So as of 12am today the petition to send the "Fairness for all Marylanders Act" to referendum failed. The petition didn't collect the 18,759 signatures need to clear the first hurdle in getting the law put on the ballot for public voting. The opponents to Fairness used scare tactics and awful misrepresentations to help get people to sign. Well it's over!! They lost. We won. When October 1st rolls around those of us living in Maryland (or passing thru) will be covered under the states anti-discrimination law. We won't have to worry about being allowed to eat at a restaurant! Hopefully as the 18th state to pass anti-discrimination laws for trans people we can see every other state add laws soon.
