My Mom sent this to me a few minutes ago (My Mom is awesome!) and I had to share it. It's a bit long, but a great story with a very happy ending. This is the kind of thing you can share with family and friends who are still getting comfortable with the idea of you being a guy.

Nice video. It's so much easier when someone knows their gender identity at a young age. I didn't know nor even cared about it until puberty happened.
I am male because I say so and nothing more.
I don't have to look or act like one therefore.

I knew at a young age, but like most didn't really think about it.  I was upset at 4 to realize that other boys had penises and I did not; and in 2nd grade used the boy's room at times I thought I could sneak in undetected; also used the men's room in stores if my mother wasn't looking.  I was written off as a tomboy; my younger sister was more of a tomboy than I was, big into sports (I was not, but then, neither was my brother...).

That's so cool he has parents like them. Probably he won't have to go through half of the sh*t most trans people have to.

Found out a little back story about this one. This video was shown at the Harvey Milk Diversity breakfast May 22 this year. (It's in the video at the very end, which I take was a later add on.) The family put it on youtube due to overwhelming request from people at the Breakfast who were understandably blown away. Two days later it had 350,000 hits! Don't even think this is accurate. I doubt, for instance, YouTube stats can keep track of posting and viewing in sites like this one. (Note: by 6/1, it had 4 million views. Now that's viral!)

It appears to be professionally done, btw.

Someone posted it to my facebook a couple days ago.

I don't know about it being professionally done. With technology now it's pretty easy to produce good stuff if you are inclined and have some skills.

This is AWESOME!! Im glad to see parents that are actually paying attn to their children, listening, and not criticizing because thats all society does is criticize. They'll need all the support and love they can get. Home should always be were love is.

So glad to see parents being parents, instead of hypocrites with their own agenda trying to produce clones like them.

He's got some wonderful parents! I wish more parents were like that, including my own.

Wow. I really hope the next generation of transgender kids will all have parents like this. How much fuller and simpler life can be from an early age when you're surrounded by people who truly love you, no strings attached.

We have so many young kids locally we actually have a play group and parent support at the trans center here.
I've met a few of the kids and their terrific moms. Also usually quite a number of parents and kids at Philly Trans Health (and Gender Odyssey but I haven't been to that one). I'm hoping I'll meet up with the one of the kids and moms I met last year. Some of the kids seem to be very incredible courage in speaking for themselves.
