Lets talk about hips

Ladies,

There is so much talk about breasts, face, surgery and clothes, but nobody is talking about hips. The pelvic area is the center of our bodies, so lets talk, Ladies!

Having been on Finasteride and Estradiol for some months, I have noticed a few changes to my pelvic area.

1. My hips at the widest part are larger than my waist.

2. When I pull up my panties, they snag on my gluteal fold and I must pull the panties rearward and over my butt to get them on.

3. When I walk, my hips slightly rotate with each step. Right foot forward and the right hip swivels every so slightly counterclockwise. Left foot forward and I get a clockwise swivel.

4. Also, when I walk, I have a slight lowering in the hips on the side that steps forward. Side to side my hips alternatingly rock up and down with each forward step.

5. When I sit on a chair, it feels much better to rotate my hips forward and keep my spine more upright.

Are any of you other ladies experiencing these changes?

And finally, don't you just love it?  ;D

Im not on hormones or any kind of body changing methods, heck, my counselling doesnt start till next week. Thing is, hips actually set me off worse than breasts, second to face and body hair.

My hips are my biggest dysphoria trigger too.

After 5 months of estradiol I've gained a bit of fat there, especially at the back, but nothing to give them width yet. I see a lot of women with narrow hips but they still look like women.

Here's hoping for more development as time passes :)

I love hips. I got some, but still think the width falls short of my shoulders by an inch or two. That's what I get for doing too many physical jobs and working upper body too much. But its not too bad, at least I got something more than I used to. I'm slim, but I've seen plenty of women with less than I have for hips, as well as flatter asses, and less boobage. I think if I can cut my waist down a bit it could give the illusion of having bigger hips (that's something I'm working on besides trying to do the splits). While I'd like to have bigger breasts, I still think I'd like to have wider hips and bigger butt more. Perhaps its because everything about a woman's body is down that end.

I've noticed my hips do some of the up/down motion when walking. not much, but I can feel it. Not sure about any horizontal motion changes.

I did do some research into how women's hips move when walking and tried to imitate it for a couple of days. That was like 9 months before starting hrt. I didn't make it a habit or anything, it didn't stick.
Then, a bit more than a month ago I just noticed it happening, without trying. I found that if I went with it and tried to make the motion myself, walking felt smoother and somehow better. Less physically awkward.

Can't comment on sitting down though. Never really paid attention to it in the first place. Though I have noticed that when I started cycling again at about 4 months HRT, after a 6 month break over the winter, my bike seat can be woeful at times. Far more uncomfortable/painful that it ever used to be. I actually have to pay attention to how I'm sitting on it or I end up sore in places I never would before. Places between my legs, around my groin sort of places  :o

I don't have hips yet despite having mild natural curves on my waist (got lucky I guess). But I'm hoping that they will develop *_* everything said in the original post sounds like a dream.

Though, If genetics mean anything in terms of hip development, it would seem that I have nothing to worry about.. Wide hips and big booties are plenty in my family :P I hope my genetics can live up to their expectations lol. Lack thereof is a mild trigger for :( especially since I'm dying to wear maxi dresses without looking blocky or empty

yep. Hips are my second worst trigger after face. I am 6 months in, my anterior superior iliac spines have gotten farther away from eachother slightly, and poke out a lot more. the increased protrusion  could be due to muscle loss around the area, who knows. My iliac crest appears to have more 'flare' to it, it used to feel buried inside my body. The edges of the iliac crest have just now gotten a little wider than my bottom ribs. My hips at the widest point are still not wider than my shoulders. I definitely set into my hip joints differently when I walk now- and have more fat down the length of my hips. These changes all feel very minimal to be honest- and would probably not be noticed by anyone who wasn't obsessing over it.

for reference to body parts:

edit: If I started at 21, am I too late to see widening in my hips? My friends in high school used to say I had 'girl hips' all the time, but I just don't see it...

I started hrt at 21 and seemed to have caught myself just in time. My hips widened within the first 6 months but I had wide hips prehrt, I'd say I gained about 2-3 inches and the gains after that has been due to fat redistribution. People used to say the same thing to me about having girl hips growing up.

I noticed today that my shoulders are just barely smaller than my hips finally if I stand up straight with good posture, if I slouch at all my physique really gets thrown off balance. Been working on my posture steadily still not quite perfect but I'm getting there.

Hips are the only remaining physical & publicly visible dysphoria trigger I have. Luckily it has gotten a lot better after 18 months with hormones, but my shoulders are still a good deal wider than the hips... Not so much that I get clocked because of it, though (and I dress accordingly).

Someday maybe I will be happy with it (I've heard after SRS you get a little more feminization down there from more fat redistribution), but I think I will probably end up doing a fat transfer sometime maybe a year after SRS. Shoulder to hip ratio fueled some kind of body dysmorphia thing for me even before I had any clue I was trans. It's probably higher up there on my list even beyond genitalia.

All of you girls who were born with wide hips are so lucky! You must promise to cherish them ;D

I have wide hips I think (32")? And waist is 25", and my shoulders are narrower than my hips.

When I walk I do have that female "butt wiggle." Lol

I'm perfectly happy with how everything is going for being on hrt 7 months now

I have curvy hips, 3 years + on hrt

I had slight hip development after 1 year, then in year 2 my hips formed nicely.

My hips do jiggle when i walk.. and i look good in jeans  :)
Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was
