They responded in just a few hours.   Kinda' nice; lookie here:

"Hi,

Thanks for your message. We totally agree with you, and we're actively working on adding non-binary gender and orientation options. We want to make sure we get it right, and leave flexibility for people to choose whatever identifier they're most comfortable with (instead of just adding a third option labeled "other" and leaving it at that), so it's taking some time. Please be patient with us as we work at this, and hopefully you'll be happy with the updates when they're ready!
Thanks,
Adam"

Wow, that's great! :) Hopefully after Facebook's big change, OkCupid and other big websites will do as throughout of a job.

I think it's good that you did that. I remember one time, I was browsing women just for fun, and I saw this dude. Turns out he was like 10 years on T, a trans man, but he felt because he had a vagina he had to list himself as "female" because too many straight women rejected him and were pissed that he listed himself as male. Personally, I wouldn't list myself as trans (though I don't do dating sites), but I can see why some people see it as a good way to weed out rejections.

What prompted me to ask was seeing a local person fuss in their profile that there are no trans* options on the site.  I think they might identify as agender or bigender.  I also asked OKC to add 'asexual' and 'pansexual' to the orientation list.

On FB I changed the sex marker to 'cisgender female' just to bring awareness to the fact that there are more identities out there than cis-.

I hope to see more inclusion of non-binary identities as society grows more aware.

It really struck me that OKCupid staff responded so quickly.  Next day I sent them a technical/site usage question & I still haven't heard back.
