Hi all,

I am going to see my endo by the end of the month to finally start HRT (yay!) and also deal with a hyperthiroidism problem. I am way too nervous wondering how can that affect my treatment. I've seen people in forums say stuff like the hormones related to this problem (hyperthyroidism) compete for estrogen receptos so something has to be done about it, and a lot of other info, but no sources at all. Does anyone actually KNOW FOR REAL what are the related issues that might affect HRT?
Thanks for your time,

I've been on thyroid medication for years and never had a problem with taking estrogen (I am also on insulin)

Thanks! Any idea if its for hypo or hyper problems? From what I gather if its hypo, it should b OK anyway, but the problem might happen for hyper as the extra hormones are the one competing for estrogen receptors... Can't wait for the endo's appointment..!
