NEW YORK CITY, NY ( June 4, 2014 ) History will be made at New York City's world-famous Carnegie Hall, when accomplished violinist and vocalist, Tona Brown, becomes the first African-American transgender woman to perform at the storied Weill Recital Hall at 7:30 PM, on Wednesday, June 25, during LGBT Pride Week. Ms. Brown, whose notable achievements include singing the National Anthem for President Barack Obama, as La Principessa in the opera Suor Angelica, and her upcoming role as Delia in the new Netflix series City Lightz, will headline a truly unforgettable evening as part of the many celebrations of LGBT Pride in New York City.

Ms. Brown's stellar performances and matchless delivery of song and music have enchanted audiences the world over. At Carnegie Hall, Tona will perform classical and contemporary selections, including works by African-American composers, including Deep River and Dream Variations. "I'm privileged and thrilled to have the opportunity to make history on the Carnegie Hall stage," says Ms. Brown, This is the high point of my career."
