Interesting Level increase.

Hi everyone hope you're all doing well .

I just recently had another hormone checkup with my Endo and I was quite surprised when I saw my current estrogen levels.

"Note I will delete levels if it isn't allowed"

My previous Oestradiol level (tested just before my second pellet implant) was 685 pmol/L which was quite good. The effects were certainly showing. My current level however has climbed to just over 3 times the previous level at 2031 pmol/L which surprised me as my hormone dosage has been essentially unchanged since last Sep when I started pellet therapy. For reference here's the basic level chart.

Reproductive Hormones

Oestradiol Follicular phase <320
Preovulatory phase 450 - 2000
Luteal phase 125 - 1300
Post-menopausal <170

I'm curious as to why my levels changed so much especially since pellets release a stable flow and levels don't normally fluctuate.

Any thoughts?

If your pellet is due for replacement the level can increase as it breaks down..

Well I assumed I would be ready for another one since my last one lasted around 3 months but my Endo (Dr Hayes) said I should be fine for another 3 months (so 6 months since my last) before getting a new implant so I don't know.

Saw him recently too, made the switch to pellets.  I'll be interested to see what happens to my levels over the next 6 months.
Didn't like getting the local anaesthetic at all. *lol*

Those implants, being bio identical are more easily assimilated into your system, making them a more efficient means of delivery. Implants will peak quickly after insertion and decay quite slowly over time.

I'm back from seeing "The Man", today (same one. Isn't he cute and cuddly  ) and after a December 13 implant I'm down to 2,439 pmol/L, meaning I won't need another for about 12 months. Previous implant lasted 15 months. He likes to replenish when you're round the 800-900 mark. Enjoy

"Since, after 6 months, the levels are still elevated, reimplantation of new pellets may lead to an accumulation and to higher estradiol levels."

Levels tested before second pellet was implanted may have not peaked yet so that when second pellet was implanted, levels further increased from both pellets.

I know he's such a lovely man . Wow 15 months that's amazing! I'm so glad I started on pellets, they just seem like such a better option (aside from costs) over oral, sublingal and injections. I'm surprised they arn't more wide spread.

I'm under the care of Dr Hayes too and just switched to a pellet. That was around two months ago so I have a while until my next appointment. He is an absolute gentleman.
