storing T and needles

I'm organizing my house and trying to become less flustered at shot time every week, but I don't have a very safe or reliable place for my Testosterone and needles right now. I don't want them to be out in the open, but I tend to take my shot in my downstairs area where I can see the time and won't forget so easily. Should I get a diabetes case or something? I might be able to make something to hold my supplies so I won't forget, but I'm just looking for ideas fora bag type that can hold my alcohol wipes, bandaids, needles and my T.

I keep my diabetes supply on the counter next to my Sharps container.  I don't know about T, but insulin needs to be out of direct sun and at a temperature of around mid 70's.

T can be put in the fridge and needs to stay around mid 70's too. I try to keep it in a not too warm place. I'm getting a new sharps so I'll buy a diabetes supply bag too.

All my shot supplies are in a shaving kit. (My sisters idea and gift.) It works well. I keep it in a drawer in my living room, a dresser would work, too.

My supplies are in a round cookie tin under my bathroom sink.

I keep my stuff in a backpack in my closet.

Lol I love those trans backpacks.

I've tried various containers and lockboxes, especially because people have expressed horror that I would keep needles unsecured in a home with a teenager, but I finally settled on just keeping my supplies in a drawer near my computer. Nobody in my life likes shots or enjoys hormone swings, so I think the desk is secure enough. When I had to open a locked or hidden container to get my T and supplies, it felt too serious and it made me more prone to delay taking my shot on time. It also felt kind of shady and covert.

Because even sharps bins designed for insulin needles tend not to fit in drawers, I've had trouble with forgetting to hide them. I once had a visitor notice and she was alarmed enough to "put the lid back on" as a favor to me, but it was the permanent seal that shouldn't have been closed until it was full. Now I have a shoebox-sized one and it's actually easier to deal with. I stick it under the desk or under the bed when I'm not using it.

I keep cat meds in the fridge but never thought about doing that with testosterone. Now I'm wondering if I screwed myself over at all by forgetting about temperatures.

I was specifically told to store my T at room temperature and NOT in the fridge because it has a tendency to crystallize at lower temperatures.

I have an old needles box. It has my needles, alcohol wipes, T, band aids and anything else I may need. It's large enough that everything is easy to get to and small enough that I can tuck it in my closet on the shelves with my clothes or under my bathroom sink. I have no insulation in my house so it stays in the bedroom during the winter and when we have company.

I'd forget what was in the backpack, so a shaving kit looks good! I looked on etsy and they have really good looking ones. I had mine in a little drawer, but it was hard to remember it in there. I'll put a patch on there so I can remember what it is. Thanks for all the ideas!

Nice part about the shaving kit, it travels well when it needs to.

I used to use a tin, but now I use a basket.  A shaving kit sounds like a good idea.

I was going to put my supplies in a Dopp kit, but I wanted something I could grab quickly (in case of emergencies) that would hold absolutely everything I needed. The sharps container just doesn't fit into a Dopp kit. A backpack is also convenient if your other two hands are full. But different strokes for different folks.

Put the vial in an empty medicine bottle your medicine in at pharmacy. Just put it will other meds. Nobody will be able to tell unless they inspect your bottles picking them up. The pins since I have kids I put the boxes in the top of closet. I get them 3 boxes of 100 when I order. I prefer 23g 1in for delta and quads. I used 22g 1 1/2 in for glutes. Bd prep pads I just leave on dresser. Kids are too young to ask why they are there. When they get older I will put them with peroxide, liquid bandage stuff so they never ask lol

I don't think anyone cares if someone can tell it is a vial instead of pills.

Anyway, Arch, I just use sharps containers from where ever I go to when I travel. If they don't have one, I keep a small bleach bottle to throw them in. It fits in the shaving kit easily.

I feel like I might have been told this too. I was much more on the ball about details when I started T than I am now. Probably time for me to go re-read all the relevant current facts.

I never travel long enough to need to bring hormones, but if we had an earthquake or something I think I'm okay with facing dosage gaps. I think if we had a survival situation I'd be more worried about cat food. My kid and I can both titrate off of our meds more easily than my cat can be convinced to eat anything other than his $4.75 an ounce premade food. He's a jerk. That's a digression.

I keep my supplies in a small Pelican case. That way, I can grab it and go anywhere at a moment's notice, and everything (except the sharps container) is together and well protected. This one isn't lockable, but the larger ones are.
