COMING OUT TO MY FAMILY

  Hey guys-

  This is going to be a somewhat bad first post. I have just come out after figuring out what was going on {for those of you who have talked to me in chat you prbly heard some of the details and are going through similar stuff}. And am trying to decide which of my family members to talk to about the transitioning situation. Decided that I am going to tell my older brother Chris and his mother and one of my cousins. But I don't think that I am going to talk to my grandmother about it. Mainly because even though my grandmother has told me that she loves me I believe that she is a hidden bigot. If anyone is wondering why I say that let me explain {and pardon the tone; no hostility intended}:

   I have mild cerebral palsy and maybe a very high IQ and my grandmother was born in 1924. Back then if you had a handicap from birth you were considered slow even if you had a high IQ. When I was younger the neurologist that I had didn't know how far I would go cognitively {btw I knew the soliloquy from 'Romeo And Juliet' by heart when I was eight years old so...}.

   Basically I figured this out because my grandmother told me that I belong in an insane asylum. Given we were arguing when she said this. But what it boils down to is that she hates my guts because I am what they call "able minded" and she would rather I be drooling and crawling around on the floor in need of total help.

   Sorry for the tone of this post. But ya. I'm not telling her.

Dylan, I see no reason to tell her anything, especially after the things she has said about you. However, only if you wish, is you could tell her and then when she cuts you down say you're out of there and don't ever look back.

As for the type size, it made it easier for me to read!
