We know what anti-androgens mean for muscle atrophy. I'm just curious if others here who have been on HRT for at least 3 months are experiencing any significant chest strength reductions.

So have you turned into a girlie floor humper? Or can you still manage a good 10 or more?

20? I dare you to try. :D

Don't know.  Don't care.

I still have a long way to go in the atrophy department.   My biceps started at 18.5" and they're only down to 17".  I'm not exercising upper body until I'm into the female range.   I'll bet I can still bench press over 200. *sigh*

Yeah same here. I don't want to workout my upper body. But one test is enough.

I don't have a pullup bar. But I also wonder how many those I can manage now.

So what does it mean if you're a "girlie floor humper" before HRT?  ???
Answers are easy. It's asking the right questions which is hard.

Be positive in the fact that there is always one person in a worse situation then you.

I can do 3 sets of 10 with 2 minute breaks in between before collapsing lol... and thats regular push-ups, girl push-ups i can do maybe 3 sets of 20 before equally collapsing x_x

As for pull-ups....

... LOL... yeah. ok. I can do maybe ONE half assed pull-up. The real strength is in da legs xD I can do maybe 80 squats in one sitting before having to take a break. 30 day squat challenge <3.. I try to stay away from upper body muscle building workouts >_< either way, most of the strength comes from my abs.. I use to be able to pull 90#, now I can BARELY pull 30 xD

After the first 3 pushups it's like HOLY SH** I'm weak now

I could maybe eek out 8 full boy pushups but I'd be super done

I used to be able to do as many as I wanted lol..

About 13. Somewhat disappointing  :(   At some point I'm going to have to put effort into getting some strength back. Not for a while though.

Just tried this and got the same result..... holy cow! I used to be able to carry two 50lbs bags of fertilizer without breaking a sweat. Now I can barely pick up a 35lb jug of cat litter.

I max out around 3-4 push-ups....I'd be too embarrassed to attempt pull ups haha.

I can do about 10.

The thing though, is before I could do like 3, maybe, on a good day. I was such an out of shape fat ass loser that I couldn't climb a set of stairs without wheezing. The first time I worked out, after 15 minutes I spent almost an hour crawling on the floor trying not to puke. That was around last Sept/Oct. Maybe a month after I started hrt. But I worked out almost every single day since then. (even Thanksgiving which I'm pretty proud of.)

Now I'm getting fit, and sexy, and strong, and I like it. I like it a lot. But I always admired tougher chicks and wanted to be like them anyways. I know I can't lift as much as before, like tables and OMG I had to move the bed last week and it was so much heavier than I ever remember. But my overall health and fitness is so much better now that I'm invested in my body and yay, I can do push ups:)

Oh come one now!!

I know I have lost much muscle mass and even more strength but I know if I wanted to I could manage at least 20 pushups....but I know from trying at the gym I can't do a pull up.....but that is a completely different thing. Even women going through basic training can't do the minimum 3 push ups required.

I use to do 75 push ups and 100 sit-ups almost every night about 9 years ago...pre hrt. I went from 165 down to 140. I also cut out some foods and soda. Just before hrt I was still fairly strong but my weight went down to 120 but I still could do many push ups and I was doing quite a bit of physical work. After 5 years of hrt I still feel stronger than most women, but know I have lost much strength...but more endurance than strength!!

I'm now at 127# and I'm sure I can do 20 pushups!!....but the yoga moves I have tried are a real bear at times!!
