hey hey, I'm new to this message boards but I've been gathering information for years regarding SRS, and as the day goes by I get more and more confused and overwhelmed with all these things. I just wanna clear my head out and narrow down my choices so I can do it this year. I already saved for it. I just don't know how it's gonna be when I go to Thailand... it's like I'm having this feeling that I will go there with all the money... and then what? lol  :D

I live in Asia  as well so I won't be paying Dollars but Peso and I would also want it to be cost effective yet functional and with aesthetic beauty.

So please do help me answer these questions and/or suggest based on your experiences:

1. where to get SRS/psych letter/recommendation at the cheapest?

2. what clinic/hospital has the most cost effective package?

3. who's gonna be the surgeon?

4. when I go there... do I just get a cab and go directly to the hospital/clinic? or should I book a hotel/inn first?

I'll start with these questions and go on as you ladies answer.

thanks a lot girls. I'm really hoping you could all help. xoxo

1. No-one should buy their referral - you are playing with physical and mental health and it needs to be properly thought through. There is no going back - and no opportunity for regret. That said, clearly some countries don't have regular procedures, so someone else might be able to help.

2. There are a couple of clinics which westerners tend to use in Bangkok (Chettawut, Suporn plus a few more). Their prices are about 12,000 - 15,000 USD. (I don't remember the Thai Baht prices). Their websites are easy to find and contain a lot of information which it is good to read through. Thoroughly. Multiple times. There are a couple of others as well - but I only read up on those two in detail.

3. See 2. Normally they are the surgeon operating.

4. The Supon / Chettawut's clinic organise drivers from airport etc. Normally you have 4 days recovery in their clinic - before moving to one of their recommended hotels for further recovery. Allow at least 3-4 weeks to stay in the hotel - this is for your recovery and sanity as well as healing and post operative checkups.

There are other threads detailing recovery from both of these surgeons so read up - and chose the one you feel most comfortable with.

yes, thanks a lot for the info. I'm also reading through past posts. Finally now I know if I schedule for Dr. Chet/Suporn there will be a driver who'll pick me up at the airport, and they will recommend a hotel after. Ever since I was a kid I really don't have sense of direction when travelling. lol  :D

I'm now reading on their websites about different procedures of doing the SRS.  :)

Hey,

There are medical travel platforms entirely dedicated to answering your questions. This one called Medigo for example, is a really useful resource in finding answers to almost all of your queries about clinic logistics, though NOT about specific medical procedures and diagnoses. They have a really lovely and helpful multilingual customer support team based in Berlin and their whole service is free. You don't have to commit to anything- just ask away! P.s. thay also have clinics based in Thailand which detail the airport/travel info. as well as medical staff and their credentials.
