what do you think about this concept

i think i put this in the wrong section. originally i was going to post in the non binary but this is really about this section so if i'm in the wrong section, feel free to move the post lol. so i've been thinking a lot (no this is just a thought, no actions are to be taking though i do want to experiment with this theory). ok, my thought is that usually, when a psychiatrist prescribes you something, the coding terms change and it is classified as medical needed because of the MD writing the script. in half cases, when a non psychiatric doctor prescribe you something, depending on what it is, insurance treats it accordingly. so my theory is, if a psychiatrist prescribes you hormones, the term that insurance would still love to use is experimental but since a psychiatrist prescribe you the script, the term would technically change to medically need. i say it this way because it now becomes a crippling instability, and you wouldnt be able to function as a normal person without, basically transitioning into your preferred gender thus not only are you looked at more seriously, you are automatically covered because under law, insurances cant deny you medical coverage and being given the script by a psychiatric doctor changes the coding to medical need. what are your thoughts on this concept? i'm really curious on your opinions and please dont knock me, i'm just given food for thought lol

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. If it did, that would make getting meds and even surgeries much easier.

true. restrictions though would be a lot tighter if not almost impossible without several examine and a requirement to go literally a longer length of time. my point being is that the rule the psychiatrist arent allowed to diagnose you would remain the same. i'm sure this has been discussed thats why i think that rule was put in place to begin with and with the whole BPD aspect coming into play, i'd make things even more impossible. but on a medically aspect though. i say this because a psychiatrist is essentially required in the process so it was a thought. i did however take in to consideration on the point that if it was that easy, their would be exploiting. what i'm talking about are those who have filed the requirements necessary and are cleared with a soild letter from the diagnosing therapist.
