Hello all, so I am seeing my therapist in a couple of weeks and she told me on the phone she is able to write letters for HRT and that she has delt with transgender patients for over 20 year.

I have been exercising and dieting for a week now and lost 5 pounds

I'm currently 300 pounds

I am doing insanity(beach body) and yoga, but not sure if this is right for dropping the weight.

I also walk 4 miles after my workout 6 days a week, and the 7th day I don't work out I just walk.

My question is, should I ask her about getting on spiro?  I have a transgender friend who told me I should get on that asap.

Also what is the best way to cut the fat and not gain muscle, I don't want to bulk up obviously :)

Words can't bring me down

You could always try changing your diet, lower your carbs and increase fat intake (including animal and saturated fat). This works very well for some people. I could provide links to why this is thought to be healthy and effective for weight loss but have already mentioned them a few times on other threads so...
I don't think exercising will do much...eating habits are really the crucial factor here.

Anti-androgens include bicalutamide, spiro and LhRh analogues like buserelin acetate, goserelin acetate, etc. Spiro appears to be associated with the most side-effects at doses typically prescribed to us but discuss all these options with your doctor and decide together what is best for you. It should be taken with estrogen as you need either estrogen or androgen in your body to feel and look good.

Best of luck. ;)
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005
