You're a total bad bit** for this. Nice job! but it's still sad we have to grow through these type of scenarios in 2014. I hope you feel better. Those little pussies will get what's coming to them eventually.

3 guys & they'll probably not have enough balls between them
4 guys & they've got just enough balls
5 guys & they've got enough balls but the law of averages means one is a nice guy who'll tell his mates they're out of line
Throw in a woman to impress & throw away the previous rules ;D

Wise words indeed, and those douchebags yesterday certainly proved your theory right. But you know, I absolutely hate the fact that you even have to know this in the first place. The only reason why you know it is because of the way certain Neanderthals have treated you... and I dearly wish it didn't have to be like that.

Unfortunately i'm probably going to have to face more & more of this as i'm well & truly in the "awkward" phase. I went to visit some friends last night & it was difficult setting foot outdoors without the nerves kicking in, Poopie came with me for moral support but even with his company it took over an hour to leave my flat.
It doesn't help that Brizzle is full off knuckle draggers & selp opinionated idiots, or as we call them localy "Wessers" (FTM's probably the only one on this board that will understand that reference).

I'm thinking of getting t-shirts printed up with various slogans on such as:

I'm lucky to be trans or i'd be perfect like you

I'm trans, what's your problem?

Please tell me what you think of me being trans, I can't wait to hear your opinion

I may be trans but i'm still a bloody human being

Is your life really so sad that it bothers you that i'm trans.

P.S. I can't believe you miss quoted me, typical bloody man never listening properly when a woman speaks  ;)

There's a definite air of menace in our home town. People round here tend to be quite aggressive by default; you notice it both when you're out in public and when you're driving around the city. All-in-all, it's a very angry place. It's weird because there are plenty of places in the surrounding area that just aren't like that. Perhaps there's something in the water.

Jayne, I so admire you. I never would have the guts to stand up to them. I'd probably have tried to escape the situation, with my feet if necessary. Even at 52, I'm still pretty quick.

This whole pathetic incident, though, underscores something I've been saying for awhile: That people who bully transwomen often get way more than they bargain for. So many I know have combat training or have done military service, carry weapons, or are just bada$$ in one way or another. After all, nearly all of us had to live decades as a male.

Any bully that picks on a transwoman is an especially stupid one.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

My first post got deleted, apparently I was blaming the victim when I'm trying to help.

I'm not at all saying it's right you got attacked at all, no one should ever get attacked.

But how would this help anything?

This seems like you want to taunt people or get negative attention with slogans like this.

...I think it was just a, y'know, joke...

Spot on Ms Grace,

it may be worth me pointing out that one way I deal with things that would otherwise bother the hell out of me is to find a funny side. One of my life rules is "you shouldn't laugh at others unless you can laugh at yourself".

If I hadn't taken a look at the lighter side then i'd still be fuming (& would have probably set off my IBS).

Another reason to laugh this off as much as possible is that even with my confidence when going out or getting confronted this has knocked me sideways. The day of the incident I had plans to go see a friend, due to putting off going out due to nerves I was 1 1/2 hrs late arriving at her place even though I had my big dog with me for moral support, yesterday I needed to go out to buy dog food & make a few appointments & as I couldn't take the dog it took most of the day to set foot outside.
My tongue in cheek attitude is just my way of dealing with a bad situation, if you ever see a post from me that could be taken as either tongue in cheek humour or me being antagonistic I promise it will be the former, if i'm being antagonistic (unlikely to ever happen) then there will be no doubt.

Harrowing tale, Jayne.
Hikari, we can't carry equalizers here in Canada, but apparently we do have a bear problem, so more than a few outdoor stores (that's cdn for gun shop) carry "Bear Repellent". I would think that the UK has a similar bear problem. Since capsicum is not lethal, I think it's a reasonable defence, I'm sure there would be no hesitation to deploy it. That being said, it is deplorable that we require a defence. Well... one day

One day this all will change
Treat people the same
Stop with the violence
Down with the hate

One day we'll all be free
And proud to be
Under the same sun
Singing songs of freedom like
One day

Hi EllieM

I don't know how the law in the UK would stand with that but i'll enquire. I was contacted earlier by the police LGBT liason team, due to the LGBT group i'm setting up & this incident they have given me details to contact them & set up a meeting.
I'll be asking what i'm allowed to carry for protection without facing prosecution, here in the UK the law gives people defending themselves very few options. About all we can use that I know of is rape alarms or possibly pepper spray.
Even though tazers are safe most of the time if you are found with a tazer (or use one) then you'll be charged with the same laws as if you'd shot someone, criminals & those who commit hate crimes wouldn't think twice about carrying weapons or picking up something from the side of the road to use as a weapon, the law abiding peoples only true recourse is to call the police & wait 20 min whilst they insist on taking ALL of your details before they'll dispatch a car & the antagonist makes a getaway.
We are allowed to use "reasonable force" only but it would be up to a court after the attack to decide what is & is not reasonable.

It's too bad that British citizens allowed their politicians to do away with their rights of self defense because it favors the activities of the criminal elements over that of the law abiding citizenry. They're attempting the same thing here in the US and it isn't going to fly.

ich.  What scum.

Congrats on the super pursuit.  Its not often that the harassed get an opportunity to frighten their harassers off in such an epic manner.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Woah, you certainly had balls for doing what you did. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have the courage to stand up to hem let alone chase them around while on the phone with the police. Tanks for the word of caution; I'll definitely look towards learning karate when I start my testosterone injections later this year.

Evolving Beauty

These types of stories make me sick and wanna cry. I reminds me of my 3rd world country where they beat you on streets randomly and once in 2002 a friend of mine got beaten and burnt alive in his apartment then robbed of all his belongings and money, that too he was just gay, not even trans. A few days later I dream of him and he told me 'Sister, help me!'. I'll never forget that and I really curse m*****f***** as such that their soul will burn in they extreme depth of hell and may they DIE as soon as possible.  >:(

Then, the bear spray is fine, it's pepper spray, but like the UK, the practice of self defence in Canada opens up a whole can of litigious worms, so we euphemistically refer to civilian deployed pepper spray as "Bear Repellent". As regards "reasonable force", I have heard more than a few Canadians opine "I would rather be judged by twelve than be carried by six". I suppose that's all moot. It is not legal for a Canadian civilian to defend one's self with a firearm. I'll follow the strategy of M. Mephitis: run, if that fails, turn and spray, walk away.

I'm glad you're okay Jayne!
It really irks me humans like them exist, but also attacking you in group? I would be making fun of them for being men and failing on their assault. (Not that I wanted them to succeed) but they're..not even worthy of being called "men" behaving such way towards a lady.

Now that you mention it we do have a problem with a rare species known as the lesser spotted knuckle dragging neanderthal around these parts, they tend to get drawn out of their caves in the summer so they may worship the mighty ball of fire in the sky & perform their primitive mating rituals  ;)

I think I will replace my walking stick with a 9 iron.....

Sad to hear what happened, but nice work all the same Jayne. Which bit of Brizzle were you going through ?

In another thread, someone (bad memory) said that a UK support group had closed its doors. I though about mentioning starting up some sort of support group, now I think we should start a vigilante group.   :icon_2gun:

I hope you do not have any more altercations like this. Not fun.

Stay safe,

Nikki
