This is just backstory, but just before summer started, a girl at my school came up to me, and revealed she was transgender. She had transitioned 4-5 years ago, meaning, just before she started high school. But surprisingly enough she was not on hormones. The reason she came up to me was to find out how I was going to start on mine. since I revealed that I was going to start on T sometime soon. I gave her a few resources, and just before school ended I got her number, to keep in touch since this was her last year at school. ((Gonna call her J))

I was very stressed however, since my hormones kept getting delayed, so I avoided calling for a long time. Finally, it possessed me to call her. She hadn't been able to start on hormones, so I put my own mind off my problems and told her I was going to get her on hormones through informed consent, a path I tried taking but couldn't because of my young age. ((J had recently turned 18 so she qualified))

In two days of research through old resources I had gathered before starting my transition, and a few calls, I got her set up. The clinic she would be going to was expensive, so I called another place to get her a referral ((It would cover the blood work and first appointment)) and was told we would have to fill out a form.

I called J and asked her to come over on Monday of June 9 ((Never gonna forget this date)) so we could fill out the referral form. She was so happy, and so was I, despite the stress I was under ((As I was still waiting to see if my endo had received my therapist letter, which would clear me for hormones.))

I'm not sure if what happened next was by pure coincidence or an act of miracle or something. But not a few minutes after J came over, my mom received a call. it was from my endo! And I was cleared for hormones! After telling J and doing a happy dance. We finally settled down enough to fill out the form.

Not a few minutes after be submitted the form, we received a call. J was approved and her referral was to be sent through e-mail! ((All this on the same day)) Finally she set up the appointment with the clinic she was going to and we said our good byes.

On Friday June 13th, I got my first shot of T. Her appointment with the clinic was on Wednesday, June 18. And she started on E on Thursday, June 26. I'm so happy for both of us. And especially for my friend, since she's been waiting so long for this and she didn't have to go through unnecessarily long processes to get on hormones.

To put this into perspective.
((For me, time from Starting therapy to Starting on T= 5 months and 2 days.))
((For her, time from Finding clinic to Starting on E= Exactly 3 weeks))

Right now we're both on hormones and we both agree that we can finally proceed to live ;o;
