As a UK girl in the centre of England, I found it difficult to locate a support group to help me in my transition. The nearest one was an hour away, which might not seem like a lot to the US folks around here, but to us, it is, especially considering I had to drive through the UK's second city to get there. Still, I was grateful to have found it as the next nearest one is in London, Europe's biggest city, which is quite a trek, a nightmare for access and very costly to get to.

I am really sad to say the support group that supported my transition, played a big part in getting my documents changed for me and generally helping me out, has ran out of funding, lost its premises and closed its doors, leaving the midlands, as far as I am aware without any significant trans support group. :-/

This is extremely bad news.  I was looking at their site very recently and I had no idea they were on the ropes. :(
