Hai, my name is legally still male, but when I get to changing it, it is going to be Alana so that is what I like to go by on the Internet.

So far I am still only very early on in my transition. I've got over what I assumed was going to be the hard part, and that was telling all my real family and friends. This went so much better than I expected, or of like the 40-50  people who now know, not a single one of them had any problem with it and everyone was very supportive.

Currently I'm just waiting to get home from vacation and am planning to go into Boston and see about beginning my physical transition.

I'm really nervous about it, as I have always hated myself so appearance was never something I cared about. Because of that I have very shaggy hair, and, even scars from an old skin disease and I am very self-conscious about myself now that I want to be something I can be happy with.

I also have a very male face and fairly deep voice. T
I have looked at many transition photos and am not super worried about the face remaining male, but I am very worried about voice.

For the rest of me... eh. I'm 6' even, weighing around 130 pounds. I have fairly large feet,  11 1/2. I'm worried about those things making it harder for me to pass, but I've read that both things can change.

I also am a recent high school graduate, and have been looking at colleges which has been is own problem because I want to go away to college, but I also want to transition during college so I've been having trouble figuring out what to do about dorms. (Would love some tips about this and I might make a thread asking for some help about that.

But I have a feeling I might needs support along the way, so instead of lurking I decided to join the forums up.

So yeah, Hai.

Alana, Welcome!

Just so you know, I am also MTF, also go by my intended name (though will probably just go by Anna) and I also have 11 1/2 feet, am 6'3" and a deepish voice.

You are not alone, though you are soooo lucky you have supportive people around you. I have not been so lucky! I have to work out my situation before I can think of starting HRT, but so excited about the idea!

Be well, and you can count in us to be here to support you and answer questions.

Thank you for the welcome, and I definitely do not take how lucky I have been for granted. I've read some very unfortunate stories and am very relieved that I am in a good situation. I'm sorry to hear that it isn't the same for you, and I wish for you that you end up in a better situation soon!!
