Quote from: Nygeel on July 16, 2014, 03:52:52 AMThere are a few trans camps for adults. I know of one that's mostly trans men but it's uh...very adult.
Quote from: CursedFireDean on July 16, 2014, 09:48:15 AMGoing camping would be a super fun thing. If there's any trans support groups or anything like that in your area, you could always suggest that as a meetup or something.
Quote from: Nygeel on July 16, 2014, 01:23:03 PMThe "very adult" trans camping is trans campout. I'm not sure when it will b this at or if it already happened. It's in West Virginia.
Quote from: aleon515 on July 16, 2014, 04:10:43 PMLocally we had a trans camp. I'm not sure it was at all "open" in that I think it was by invitation. There are LGBT camps and programs specifically open to trans people. There are also trans activities and programs through out the year. But an all trans camp all the time? Never heard of this.--Jay
Quote from: campenella on July 16, 2014, 04:27:44 PMI wouldn't be adverse to there being allies, but I would love a camp that just focuses on trans people with it being open to lgb people who aren't trans. Youth have these sorts of camps, not many but a few. I sorta just wanted it to be based on exploring the forest, having picnics and talking about trans stuff while having activities to do.
Quote from: GnomeKid on July 18, 2014, 07:45:11 PMI agree that I'd love something like this. None of my friends near me really like to camp, and I'm not all about going out with a group of cis-strangers camping.
Quote from: pianoforte on July 20, 2014, 01:54:45 AMI'll go camping with you!I mean, you're a relative stranger from the internet, what's the worst that could happen? =P
Quote from: aleon515 on July 20, 2014, 07:17:43 PMI don't actually know what's to stop you. Groups of people can plan events. I'm kind of in the midst of planning something else. But camping is fairly cheap, probably the hardest thing is to find a place where it's not too far for a number of guys to get together. I'm kind of surprised there aren't more real life meetups. But I have met people here at Philly Trans Health.--Jay
