T-Change / Javier Rossi (now with a couple of post FFS photos)

Well looks like I'll be confirming a surgery date with T-Change tomorrow hopefully. It took a while to come through, but I must say out of all the consults I've had, there's was the most informative, personalised and reflective of what I do, and do not need done (imo). Some have recently mentioned booking with them on here too but they unfortunately haven't resurfaced, so it might be up to me to give some feedback on Javier and the team lol. I'm looking at pretty much getting the full FFS works done including a revisional rhinoplasty, so should be a good test case to see what they can do.
I know he's new, so am a little worried but he does seem to be a very medically very capable and experienced surgeon from what I can see, so that is the main thing for me, I'm just hoping the aesthetic result will also be good. 
As for my main reasons, see below:
-He does indeed seem to be a proper maxillofacial surgeon compared to many that are really plastic surgeons only.
-Very good, detailed, personalised, realistic consult.
-Price is very competitive, as I am going back to do post grad study next year, I need to have surgery this year or wait at least another two years.

Well I will let you know when I confirm (within the next few days hopefully), and after I do, I promise to keep you all updated along the way! Just hoping I can do as good of a job as Roni did with here Cardenas thread! Loving her new look : )

ps, I forgot to ask them where they perform their surgeries and I can't seem to see it on their site, does anybody know? I'll make sure to confirm that before booking..

Hi Olivia, I have had a quote from T.Change for the full works [all revisional], and their prices are very competitive. I was kinda waiting for someone else to go first and report back. I am so impatient about getting this aspect of my transition completed that I don't think I can wait any longer. I'm looking into a supposed "top surgeon" In Athens, Greece, but if I go to him, it would just be the same as me going to T.Change, to have surgery with Javier Rossi. They are both unknown quantities. I am again, and like you, going to have to take a chance, A "Leap of Faith". I would like to think that "Fortune favours the Brave", but it doesn't, or at least it didn't, when I went for surgery in Mexico. The surgeons prices in Greece, are also very competitive, just a bit more than T.Change. I will definitely be making my decision soon. The price I've had from T.Change will be held to the end of this month, as long as I book and pay a deposit by then, then it doesn't matter when I schedule the surgery for. We might end up in Buenos Aires at the same time. It all depends if the Koreans ever get back to me, and if the Greek deal does or doesn't happen. We will have to keep an eye on each others posts, coz you never know..................
P.S. If Greece and Korea don't work out, then I may pay more than double the money that T.Change are going to charge me, and go to Dr DiMaggio, to be sure that I get the right results this time.

Dear Girls,...FFS is a mayor procedure in plastic and craniofacial surgery...should not be a matter of luck or not to cross your fingers, or go with the cheapest.
It should be a choice of surgeon with experience and ability more than anything else.

Hi Samantha, unfortunately for those of us who struggle to make ends meet, going to the cheaper surgeon is the only way. Having said that, I have heard that on this site you are are keenly supportive of MDM, which is okay, I think what I've seen of his work he must be a fantastic surgeon. If I can get enough money together I would like to go to him, but then again if I could get even more money together I could go to Brian Musgrove in Manchester, England, and if I had a mountain of money I could go to Facial Team in Spain [They are probably the best at the moment]. Do you see what I'm getting at, it all depends on what finances you have at your disposal. I'm guessing your post is not an offer to pay for my FFS [I wish!!], so I would gracefully ask you to step off of your high horse, and get real. All said and done I do agree with you, but after my disaster at the hands of the "Mexican Butcher, The Muppet Man" [not mentioning any names], I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I think you really should look into Rossi if money is this limiting right now teardrops, it's really the only option for you and I wouldn't even give Femilife a thought after things I've read and heard, after all Rossi IS an FFS surgeon... Argentina and Brazil are apparently some of the more advanced South American countries too so... I don't know tho ppl keep saying he's only low priced cause of introductory prices, you may have to catch him before they go up... I'm glad lemon ice started this thread

It looks like I'll be booking for mid October (4 days before my 31st birthday, Happy B-day to me lol), so there may not be a lot to see here until then, but will definitely post anything relevant up to then

Samantha, I appreciate your concern, however I think all surgeries carry a level of risk, so in other words are a matter of luck no matter how experienced the surgeon. From what I can see however, Javier at T-change has a solid background and a lot of experience in maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, even if he has only recently made his debut in commercial FFS proper. A different proposition completely to Femilife, the things I've heard (I'm sure we've all heard) about them are just absolutely terrifying. Also its not a matter of being cheap, its a matter of getting FFS or not getting FFS, I just can't accumulate the cash I need for the other surgeons before I need to take up my post grad study scholarship next year. I spent a lot of time of time recently doing the numbers, and short of prostitution, that's the situation.

Teardrops, good luck to you : ) I do admire how much effort you're putting into researching less well known surgeons in other parts of the world, I definitely understand your motivation. It seems there are a relatively small number of well known but high priced surgeons who specialise in transgender FFS, but I'm sure there are a great number of surgeons worldwide with great maxillofacial skills who could do an excellent job. : ) Well if you do go to MDM, I'm sure you will be happy. They were very good to deal with, with excellent communication quality and speed. Their price was very reasonable too I thought. Believe it or not, TransOp (Cardenas) quoted approx. US$4000 (excluding accommodation at their recovery residence) more than MDM for a pretty comparable list of surgeries which was surprising. They were also the only ones to not recommend the type III brow reconstruction for me. Anyway, take care and good luck : )

I had my full FFS with Dr. Rossi and T-Change on July 8, 2014. I can tell you for a fact that he is a highly skilled Surgeon and the results of the surgery surpassed my wildest hopes and expectations. He is a compassionate physician with a wonderful bed side manner. He is not just a surgeon, but truly an artist when comes to creating the female face. I can't recommend him enough and sincerely believe is the best you are going to find worldwide. Good Luck!

Well I just booked and paid for my flights yesterday (almost 20 hours each way uggh, NZ isn't close to anywhere lol), and also paid the deposit to T-Change last night, looks like I'm all set for the 15th of October.

I have absolutely no opinion about Dr Rossi one way or another and can only be happy for those who have the opportunity to avail of the services of a surgeon who is trying to gain recognition, it could be a very good bet.

However, having gone through a very full FFS, I am very reserved, if not to say downright sceptical, about posts like that of Brienna2014:  first post out of the blue (not so much as an introduction beforehand) and already talking about results of a full FFS "surpassing wildest expections" only 11 days post surgery.

Since it takes weeks if not months to be able to make a realistic judgement about a full FFS, either Dr Rossi has come up with some very innovative surgical procedures or Brieanna might just be getting ahead of herself. Maybe some before and after photos Brieanna?

I too just returned from Argentina and July 2nd FFS with Dr. Rossi. In fact, I was in the same apartment building as Brieanna, a girl from Georgia and another from London. The friendship was VERY helpful in our collective recoveries.

Dr. Rossi performed the following procedures:

1. Type-3 forehead reconstruction.
2. A slight lip lift.
3. Chin reduction
4. Neck & face lift

The chin is still a bit swollen after 3-weeks, but my new forehead and rest of my face are incredible. Amanda and Dr. Rossi are a wonderful team who not only listen, but they offer great advice too, in case you're unsure about what procedures you need.

I have some great before & after 2-weeks photos, and as soon as I figure out how to upload them, I'll do so. I also told Amanda, she can use my pics on her website.

Well I'm still on for the 15th of October with T-Change : ) I'm just trying to find a few fun things to do in Buenos Aires/Argentina now as I decided to spend a month there so should have a little time when I'm mostly recovered for a wee holiday : )
So I thought I'd better put a pic up of what they are having to deal with. Please don't judge, this is me just prior to starting HRT about two months ago, my apologies on the quality and subject, this is not who I see in my mind.. I'm still growing my hair, it's the thing I really wish I started doing earlier, but other things seem to be slightly improving with HRT too (lips and eyelashes I've noticed so far). I promise to take some better pics prior to surgery : )

I'll second that. I'm in the midst of making a final decision as to what surgeon to go for, and out of all the online consultations that I've had so far, T-Change offered the most detailed and personalised response. They haven't tied to sell me on procedures that they think I don't need either.

Anyway, a warm thanks to everyone here in the FFS sub-forum. It's been in an invaluable resource.

 I recently came across a post that doubted the sincerity of my post concerning my recent FFS procedure with Dr. Rossi and T-Change and I want to set the record straight. I am not a " plant " that Dr. Rossi are T-Change have put on this forum to promote his practise. I am in no way being compensated any way to promote them. My testimonial and anything I post is sincere and of my own volition. I do not believe that " I am getting ahead of myself ".Yes it has only been a month since the surgery, the results have been dramatic and positive nonetheless. I firmly stand by what I posted originally.   I have gone from " passing " as female only 5% of the time to nearly 99% of the time since the surgery. That in itself speaks volumes about his surgical skill and artistry. Here is a list of procedures that Dr. Rossi performed;

1. Type 3 Forehead Reconstruction
2. Full Rhinoplasty
3. Lip Lift
4. Jaw Contouring and Reduction
5. Chin Reduction and Contouring
6. Tracheal Shave and Face/Eye Lift.

In the 30 days since the surgery, all the bruising has vanished and the only swelling left is a small amount in the chin. The right side of my forehead, tip of the nose and the chin still remain somewhat numb, and these are improving on a daily basis. He was very honest in his consultation concerning everything he was going to do and what I could expect during my immediate and eventual full recovery.

I have been informed by T-Change that all the before after photos will be available for viewing in a month, as their website is being redesigned at this time.

One final thought, being transgendered and having spent almost 7 years out in the open ( both privately, socially, and professionally ) I am hurt and somewhat offended that anyone would, or could think that I would intentionally mislead any of my transgendered sisters about something as important as the FFS. Thanks for your feedback Brieanna, I really do appreciate it I did believe you from the start, if that helps, but I can understand why others may have been sceptical. I guess FFS seems to be a pretty emotive issue which is kinda understandable in my opinion due to it's potential positive life changing effects, the consequences of it going wrong and the fairly large cost of the surgery... I have also seen some endorsements of dubious origin posted, and I know of at least one representative of a surgeon that is currently active in the FFS section who is making 'helpful' posts without disclosing their identity and agenda which I think displays very poor ethics on their behalf. I have no problem with the representatives of surgeons posting in this forum as long as they disclose who they are and who they represent; it can actually be rather useful and provide good info. So please don't take any comments above too personally, there is some reason for a heightened level of skepticism in this section unfortunately...

Well no major updates from me sorry, I'm trying to cram in as many hours of electrolysis as I can per week at the moment which is only 5-6 hours pw unfortunately as the only reasonable electolysist I can find in this town doesn't like to do more than an hour or so at a time, or work after business hours. I've managed to cajole her into 1.5-2 hours sessions now though and will keep trying for longer lol, so 3 sessions of 1.5-2 hours per week at the moment. I just cant get away from any more with work unfortunately.. I'm still saving all my pennies still to pay for everything, but I'm within US$1000 of paying the remainder of my FFS (yay!!), so just need a bit of money for accom. and food etc. while there.. which should be no trouble between now and mid October : ) I can't wait to finally be there really. Thanks again Brieanna for sharing your experiences, it's very reassuring : )

I want to thank you for your reply first and foremost. I do understand that the FFS procedure is a highly personal issue and decision. I am not a skeptical or pessimistic person by nature, but I am a cautious person in that I do a very thorough job of of researching any kind of undertaking of this nature. I crossed check T-Change and Dr. Rossi through a number of sources, including his professional credentials and that of his surgical team in Argentinian web sites. I could not find any discrepancies between what T-Change had on their web site and what my independent research showed. This doesn't include a number of phone calls between me and Amanda.

What this means is that I had no doubts or apprehensiveness about the legitimacy of T-Change and Dr. Rossi and left and went forward with the procedure with full faith and confidence. In the end, the individual will have to decide for themselves as to what they believe to be factual or false.

Again, thank you for the reply and I hope this helps.

Thanks again Brieanna! Wow you really did your homework, I did look into Javier's credentials myself, but it sounds like you did a much more thorough job than me, which is reassuring to know. I'm so glad things went well with your surgery too , I hope the keeling process is still going well.
And I just noticed you're in Alaska! It's fun being fun being far away from pretty much everything huh, I'm currently in Dunedin NZ which is at about the opposite corner of the pacific as you lol.. How long was your flight to Buenos Aries? it's 16-18 hours with a stop in Santiago for me.. super fun lol.
