So I finally got my BC (birth certificate) from my Dad, then I see it's just a copy, odds are, he doesn't have it and I got all paper work from my mom/relatives and I don't have it either so, do you NEED the original BC in order to be able to change your name or, will a copy do? Also, what else will you need besides the money to change it?

Lastly, I have been having trouble coming up with a name to replace my middle name with (Already decided on the 1st name), so, does anyone have any name suggestions for female only names? If you know the meaning of the name (Like how Japan does their names) then it'd also help me to decide if you included a link to the meaning of the name.

Each country, state or local has there own process in the name change.

You will need to check with them on what is needed. Everyone is different. No one rule fits all in the states.

Lots of luck and sorry no idea on the name.

I would suggest Portia.

I didn't need my birth cert to change my name. You should check with your local clerk of courts to see what documents you actually need. you may purchase a copy from the department of vital statistics from the state you were born in if you really do need one.

Ask your parents what they would have named you, or ask them to give you a name.. I think that's the best way to go.

The Social Security Administration has a listing of baby names that were most common in any year since 1879.  For example the top 10 names for girls in 1994 were:

Jessica
Ashley
Emily
Samantha
Sarah
Taylor
Brittany
Amanda
Elizabeth
Megan

Or you could go to the other end off the list and look for unusual names.  To blend in I might be tempted to pick something that is pretty common.
