Pacific Network campaigns for gay, lesbian and transsexual rights

One of the groups looking to influence the minds and opinions of delegates at the AIDS 2014 Conference is the Pacific Sexual Diversity Network.

Working from Tonga the Network's aim is to support and lobby on behalf of gay, lesbian and transsexuals across the region.

Some are facing persecution from religious groups, governments and colonial-era laws which prohibit homosexual acts.

Resitara Apa is the Network's co-ordinator and outside the Melbourne Convention Centre she sat down to talk to Pacific Correspondent Campbell Cooney about its priorities.

Presenter: Campbell Cooney, Pacific Correspondent
