We had several thread in which whether or not Andreja Pejic was or was not transgender...

Well, it seems the proverbial "I told you so" applies ... LOL

Like many if us she probably struggled with acknowledging it herself for a while too.

It reminds me a tad of Chelsea Manning given the trans community was aware of her status long before it became public knowledge. Having said that, I do dislike the fact some trans people in both cases tried to impose 'transgender' on them and also tried to define the specific form of their gender identity long before either of them made any public declarations or self-defined of their own violation. I'm categorically not saying that was the case on this forum as I wasn't here to see it so can't know but I view the people outside this forum that did it as a wee bit disrespectful and dangerous, somewhat akin to when people of a particular sexuality effectively force people out of the closet via speculation.
"In the middle of the journey of our life, I came to myself in a dark wood, where the straight way was lost. It is a hard thing to speak of, how wild, harsh and impenetrable that wood was, so that thinking of it recreates the fear. It is scarcely less bitter than death: but, in order to tell of the good that I found there, I must tell of the other things I saw there." - Dante Alighieri

You did do so, but I won't presume upon others my thoughts on them. If someone claims to be Asian who doesn't look it am I going to tell them they are wrong? No. It seems far too much effort not to just take people at their word.
15 years on Susans, where has all the time gone?

Absolutely !

I have a long time friend, older than me -if that is possible- who struggle with GID doubts for 7 decades, only transitioning at 73, a couple of years after her wife died...

She can be the poster girl for man of us going from late cross-dresser in her late 20s to androgynous in her 30s , gender fluid and non-binary in her 50 and early 60s, to finally transsexual....

I am not saying every body would eventually end up as a transsexual !

Hey, Honey,

Since you are new to the forum I will let you know that the thread in question was whether or not he was in HRT because many of her pictures showed a breast development. Cis-man do not tolerate boobies at any age.... so I said: "If you walk like a quack, dance like a quack, talk like a quack....Chances are you are a quack"

As far as discussing whether somebody is trans or not, well at least in the USA, is my constitutional right, so long I do not slander anybody, right? and more important it is natural that we are preoccupied with celebrities or public personas who may be trans. We are desperately seeking good "role models" and "good- will ambassadors," to be our representative and examples. We do have a number of them, and now the bountiful Andreja Pejic joins the ranks

Having said that, I do not believe in malicious gossip or subscribe to the policy of outing people.

To Ms. Andreja Pejic.... G-d speed Girl !

I know a lot of people thought that she MUST be trans because of how she presents...I never thought so, I took her at face value when she was presenting as a more androgynous male and I take her at face value now that she is telling the world that she is truly a woman.

Andrej and Andreja are whatever identity they declare themselves to be.  I think it is fine to speculate, but respect is key.  If Andreja now identifies as a woman that is good enough for me.    If Andreja subsequently announces that she identifies differently then I am also good with this.
