A new study finds that LGBT youth are harassed more online when compared to their non-LGBT peers.

Unfortunately, I think it's not surprising given the prevalence of bigotry in every other domain. I can't imagine the harm younger people are enduring and hope the benefits of internet communities mentioned greatly outweigh any pain they suffer.

Well it's way easier to harass or abuse someone when you don't have to look them in the eyes or face to face. It's really sad that people use online social sights and so on just to abuse someone but it makes them feel good about themselves I guess to degrade others.
