Guess what happened?

I took an extra by mistake.  I skipped my second dose and kept on with third, but felt blah all day.

Should I have still gone with second and third dose?

Well ain't you a silly girl? Don't worry, you'll be fine, just don't do it too often. I mistakenly took Progynova for about a month after I'd had my E implant when I should have been taking Provera instead. D'oh.

That's a clever oops.... Wonder what your serum levels were like.  (And they both start with pro so easy enough to get it wrong...)

One day of dosing incorrectly won't do much.  It's not like other conditions (eg diabetes) where a mistake is potentially costly.

It's funny though, progynova has day markings, and I still used to get it wrong... serve me right for fumbling around in the dark...

Hah, sure didn't feel clever at the time! I'd been on the right meds for two months before my next blood test so we'll never know the levels I'm sorry to say. I have to say in was feeling a bit irritable that month, once I was back on the Provera and off the Progynova I was much nicer. When it comes to names of things I can be totally dyslexic - and if the words are similar as in this case I can really get confused! Anyway, I called Dr H as soon as I realised the error but he wasn't concerned.

Hi Grace, I had to look up Provera. Its not bio-identical? I assume you're using its easier to get in Australia than a bio-identical progesterone such as Microgest, but I think you'd still be able to get a prescription for Microgest.

For extra laziness, Dr H does offer progesterone implants... I'm considering it to get off spiro altogether.  As I'm male mode, I got funny looks at the pharmacy with the progynova scripts (less so with spiro)

Yes, I did mean to ask him about that last Monday when I saw him. Since I was getting an E implant I figured one was enough!

I only ever got weird looks from one male pharmacist when I bought my Provera and Progynova in guy mode... and that was in a Chemist on Oxford St in Darlinghurst!! He'd hand me the medication and say "everything going OK on this?" - I'd smile and say "it's great!" Have to admit I really enjoyed freaking that guy out!!

Its only one incision Grace, he just makes it a little bigger to accommodate the progesterone.

I still remember the first time my E was filled out - "you know this is a hormone right?"  And I sort of mumbled a reply.

I should have been more creative and said something about being oversexed and having prostate problems simultaneously to see the reaction.  Was feeling a bit slow that day, and the novelty has run off.

I did hear there could be some problem from the two being co-located that they can counteract each other. Or at least that's what I thought I was told by someone who had that problem.

When I tried to transition the first time I was so paranoid about what the pharmacists would think, I would take my scripts to four different chemists, one each. I'd get Androcur from one (OMG, they must think I'm a sex criminal for needing this), Primogen Depot from another (they must think I'm a weirdo), etc, etc - I think if I'd tried to buy all four at the same pharmacy my brain would have exploded in dread. These days I don't care, get them all filled at once and don't care what they think - and that was when I was still in guy mode.

I can't think of a reason why there'd be an issue with co location.  Pharmacologically there shouldnt be an issue.  If the person concerned is a poor healer, possibly an issue with the way the fibrous tissue capsule develops around the implants, but it would have been the same issue with multiple pellets in the same area (as the coverings are pretty much the same).

Paranoid the first time much Grace?  I didn't have the time for it, just bit the bullet - I figured if I was going to be embarrassed, may as well just be at the one place...

I have had hypertension for 20 years and with all those prescriptions and all the pharmacologists that have come and gone at my local pharmacy not one of them really remembered me - It only took one script of E for that to change - Now several of them know me and chat me up whenever we meet whichever mode I am in at the time

Lol.  But seriously, I think pharmacists are pretty well informed in my area.  Not even the lovely old biddy at my local chatting to her friend raised even a eyebrow at the script.
