I went to my first meeting today with the provider I was hoping would start me on HRT and found out, to my dismay, that all she's worked on so far are FtM folks so she has no idea about MtF HRT which is rather more complicated.

She's very intelligent and understands the concepts but isn't familiar with the protocols but, on a good note, she's willing to research them and talk to people who know them and I'm willing to be her learning curve. Sadly there's little else I can do in Anchorage to find a provider for HRT. She and I are going to look into the standards/protocols together for dosing and testing. They exist so I think I'm safe. She'll do regular checks of my LFT and I know what to look for in terms of DVTs.
On a good note: she originally thought I was there for transition from FtM. That was a nice feeling.
