Sir Real

Maleth not bad bro.  Nothing really stands out as overly conspicuous.  You have a decent shape imo

StirfriedKraut I am a bit jealous.  You look and sound great, especially in the second vid.  I have to admit I haven't had time to watch through all of both of them.  But yeah you're just all guy from where I'm standing, or sitting rather.

I'm getting borderline depressed about my appearance. I've been on T for 5.5 months and I feel like I look the same now as I did pre-T. My voice is a bit better (but it was a squeaky nightmare to begin with) but I only pass about 10% of the time. I guess I look like a guy if you're a little kid or an old person. I'm about to start my job as a high school teacher and I'm afraid none of my students (and few of my colleagues) will take me seriously. I have crazy bad acne, I'm short, my voice is still too high, and I don't know what to do. I honestly just want to hibernate for a year. I have the tiniest peach chin fuzz that only serves the purpose of making my acne worse.

I want to look at pictures of other trans guys to get hints and tips on how to pass better, but it's so triggering that I can barely stand it.

Is there anything I can do? What is causing me to not pass? Is it the haircut? Acne? Hips? Chubby cheeks? Posture?

[try not to quote images, please and thanks]

I would love any advice you guys have to offer. Be harsh. What can I do? I keep telling myself to just be patient but I feel like I haven't changed at all and I'm getting angry and sad.

The clothes aren't doing you any wonders for your shape. Wearing pants that hang a little looser on your legs will help as well as a looser shirt even if you're not binding. Get men's jeans and see what styles fit you best. Levi's and Lee's fit me really great around 5 months and made my hips look really streamlined, but I'm more boxy now so they don't work. It took me up until 8 or 9 months to see the body changes that I was really looking for honestly. I felt so angry because everyone was saying that the 6 month mark wasn't really that much but it feels like a whole like when you've gotten that far. As for work wear button up shirts with slacks and a men's cardigan. I lived on cardigans as a tutor and they work wonders for air conditioned settings. They hide your shape better and they are really stylish. Don't be tempted to wear a full on sweater-just don't. Wearing a messenger bag to work will make your shape look more masculine too.

I wear offshoots of this:

with boat shoes, toe tones or really comfortable loafers. I went to payless and found some amazing boat shoes that I wish I had in every single color. They are legit the best for long days standing or walking.

The hairstyle can be modified: I think you should taper the edges down a little like so

It'll give your face more of an edge, but be careful of not completely cutting off the sides because it won't look professional.

As for your voice, you just have to learn to stand up for yourself, assert that you are male and answer no student questions on the matter. Be confident, don't slouch and the more you think about your voice the more it'll make you dysphoric. It'll be embarrassing, but every night practice pitching your voice down in a way that sounds natural and not forced. Presenting as male is more important than voice though, let me tell you.

StirFried, you are Pre T?  :o
I didn't watch the entire video's since my laptop can't run something like that for long. But, your voice, wow. Color me impressed! I think you should head over to the official bad ass thread since dude, you look great!

Wearing my other pair of eyeglasses, knowing that I need a haircut. Are these eyeglasses feminine?
I also need hairstyle suggestions (medium-long hair please).

The glasses are actually alright, I would say they look more unisex and they suit you really well so I wouldn't change them if you like them :) As for hairstyles! I have a few suggestions. (I'm a sucker for hair... Debating if I should become a hairdresser or an arts teacher xD)
These suggestions are based of the pictures I have seen of you before, so I'm mostly just taking in count your facial structure and such.

Medium length:

These are fairly close to your current length and I think it could help with showing of your jawline since you have a nice one.

Here are some suggestions if you dare to go a bit shorter and such.

I apologize about the picture flow xD I hope these help :)

OOoo Dalex, I'm liking all of those for him.  Good suggestions.  I wouldn't normally post because this doesn't add anything but yeah XD I especially like 2-4 but I really like all of them.

I don't dare to go too short since I'm afraid I'll look butch but I'll try it once my face masculinizes enough on T. I think I'll decide between the first two but I don't know how I'll ask the barber for it since my mother will be there with me despite being 22 years old and she's worried about what other people might think when they see my hair.

6 months guyssss. 6 months on T and i think the biggest change would be my voice so far and that i've put on roughly 30 lbs and grew 2 inches. so yeah im just kinda getting bigger all over.

and ont eh topic of hair

i recently got it cut i hate it like it is now but the hairdresser assured me it would grow to what i wanted so =u=

some friends of mine say if i could manage to grow some facial hair i would prolly look a little like cris pratt

which is cool, guy's adorable.

Adam (birkin)

Yeah Marcellow hair on the longer side would definitely suit you.

This is unrelated but OMG you look exactly like one of my old students. Funnily enough I saw them today.

I'm around five weeks on T and it's been a while since I last got misgendered, but I'm still worried about my face/hair. What do you guys think?

(I also seem to be unable to take pictures looking serious, for whatever reason)

alex666

I usually never wear tank tops but it was stupid hot when i took these pictures. my hair is a little shorter now tho but it basically looks the same. so yeah sometimes i pass but mostly I don't, it's probably like my face or cos i'm short i think but yeah do you guys have any advice?

also like does my body pass? cos my sister said these jeans make me look taller but they're also skinny jeans and even though theyre guys jeans i worry it like makes me look more feminine

Maleth

Wow, really late reply but I kinda forgot about my post on this thread. Thanks guys for the feedback. My legs always look like chicken legs in photos somehow, but in reality they look really defined and a bit thicker. Lol, I've got a few years of running and backyard soccer to thank for that but I still got noodle arms. :c

@StirfriedKraut , You pass 100% to me both in voice and appearance.

@Marcellow, When I look at you I see a guy with an androgynous gender presentation, and I think that with a haircut you'll look even better. Things are looking good though for you so far! I like your glasses as well.

@Beefxcake, Congrats on the growth, dude! I envy you as I probably won't grow any on T. :P Awesome jawline and the haircut looks good.

@Proton, Pass 100% IMHO! You look like a young guy to me, maybe 16ish.

@Alex666, Your face looks very masculine so you pass better already and even with an alternative haircut it doesn't sway my opinion that you pass to me. The skinny jeans look fine on you and I would assume you were male if I saw you in public. If you want a side tip, then I'd advise to avoid shirts that are oversized or waaay too big. The one in the picture is fine but if a person has big hips (I can't tell if you do from the pic) and a shirt is big yet hugs the hips it'll look odd if one is trying to pass. If you go shopping sometime soon keep that in mind (if ya want :D). I myself am really short and small so I know the pain of shopping and trying to find clothes that give a good fit.. it drives me crazy since I'm so into men's fashion but lotsa clothes just plain out are too big or don't fit. >_<' The boys' department is good to look in though for a person of my size.. I'm about 5'2'' in stature. How tall are you?

Thank you for the response! and yeah finding shirts that fit is the eternal struggle :P. I've lost a lot of weight too and a lot of my old shirts are way too big and even size small shirts are too big now. I need some new shirts for school and I've also been considering checking out the boys department but it's weird cos like i'm pretty skinny but like all the fat on my body decided to be stuck to my hips which suuuuuuccccckkksssss and makes shirts fit weird. and to answer your question i'm about 5'3 if we're being optimistic.

I know the struggle. In men's I'm like XXS/XS so it's usually not worth looking in that department for me as they don't have my size unless I order online and even then.. ;_;

Alex666,
You face passes very well to me, so I am not sure why you don't pass.  Are you on T?

In terms of the skinny jeans, I know that guys wear them (especially younger guys), but I would suggest that if the average adult in the U.S. was unsure if a person was a boy or a girl, the skinny jeans would swing them towards female.  The same thing with alternative haircuts (yours not so much though).  That's just my opinion (as a 44 year old).  Check out Proton's pic.  Just a regular men's haircut is best, if your main goal is passing.

Proton, definite pass.

alex666 - i'd say you pass but I agree about the skinny jeans, they highlight hips (even if you don't really have them) and can hinder passing. You might want to stay away from them for now if passing is an issue...

xenguy - it's close for me, but from the pic i'd say pass. if your voice is still on the high end i'm guessing that's what it is. 2 months is nothing! I'm sure your voice will drop much more.

I just came back from going to the barber, this picture makes me feel like I'm missing a beard.

alex666- I think you pass. maybe your voice gives you away? that's what always happens to me.  :(

xenguy - you pass in that pic! Yeah, I would say it is the voice, not the face dude.

Marcellow - I think you are passing better and better, but you would look amazing with a beard.

so what do you guys think? I got "he'd" today by a stranger so....

capture screen

and a few days ago I also passed as male until I spoke....

how do you print screen

ElioAyla: I think you pass in both pictures, although you seem more androgynous in the first one. In my opinion it might be the way the jacket is arranged, but I can't completely put my finger on why.

"No" from me for the first picture.

"Yes" for the second.

I think it's the hair in the first one.
