As 14 new contestants enter the Celebrity Big Brother house tonight, it's time to get to know those expected a little better.

Who? Kellie Maloney, formerly known as Frank.

Where do I know that face from? Kellie became famous for managing boxer Lennox Lewis to World Heavyweight Champion in 1993. She is undergoing gender reassignment and living life as a woman having retired from boxing in October 2013. In the past two years she has undergone hormone therapy, hair removal electrolysis, voice coaching and counselling to make the transition – all in secret.

Having watched her coming out storry which was quite big news in the UK, and seen the support she got, I was still concerned about how the public would respond. To my suprise, where as almost all contestants who entered before her got a mixed response, hers was overwhelmingly positive. People calmed and supported her and have continued to do so now that she is there.

Twitter responses seem to have been quite good with some expected abusive jokes, but its hard to tell as these things can get reported and removed very quickly. I was pleased to see that her eldest daughter posted a supportive comment for her on there.

Unfortunately she made some comments abotu not supporting gay right to raise children and adopt, which could sour things for her. Its a baffling position for a woman with an ex wife and two children.
