QuestioningEverything

Hey guys and gals! I feel like I should introduce myself by name but not really sure what I want to be called anymore. ??? Do I go by my legal name or do I figure out my new name? I don't know very confusing stuff! Anyways I'm about one month away from turning 27 and for the past year my entire world has been turned upside down. Ive decided to try and finally figure out whats wrong with me and it's seems very likely that I must be Trans. So I'm male bodied and pretty sure I'm going to start HRT this year. Ive been in therapy for about 3 months now and just got my third laser hair session last week which im still pretty pissed that i still have a bunch of hair left on my chin area, pretty much everything else is mostly gone. I've got an appointment at a transgender clinic to discuss HRT but thats not till October! pretty pissed i still have a whole 2 months to wait and not sure if i should try to find a different doctor or not? Kind of feel like i should wait it out since they deal with trans people. Other then that my hair is starting to thin out and its stressing me out! I still have a full head of hair but its getting thin in the front and forming the classic m shape.  I'm also trying to build of the courage to go to a local support group but it freaks me the hell out! not sure why, it just does. I guess i'll end my intro/rant now.

Hi Q.E. Welcome to Susan's. Sounds like you are well underweigh and properly provisioned :) The "M", eh? Minoxidil. It takes months to notice any re-gains, but it's worth a try. You can get it fairly cheaply at any of those big box stores. Looking forward to seeing you in the forum.

Q.E.

Welcome to Susans.  You seem to have struck it lucky with your facial hair removal.  I am certainly more than a little jealous!  (Today another 3 hr of galvanic electro and even after 135hrs galvanic, 66 hrs of blend and 8 laser treatments there are still hairs remaining. Blonde and white hairs are the bane of my existence).  Joining a therapy group is a good thing.  Like seeing the therapist, coming out and starting hrt each step seems massive but not so much, after the event.

HRT should help with your hair loss and minoxidil reportedly helps, but slowly.  If it becomes a major problem then different hair styles, perhaps with bangs, can work well.

Anyway, there is plenty of information on the boards and great folk to listen, advise and to share.  Enjoy.

Safe travels
