Well, this is certainly odd, but it made me smile.

Today I went to the drive thru to order some junk food, because, well, it's Friday and I'm in my "just screw it" mode and I don't feel like cooking.

Speaker: "Welcome to Wendy's. Would you like to make a donation to the Dave Thomas foundation for $1 and receive a book of frosty coupons?"

Me: "Yes, please."

Speaker: "Thank you ma'am, can I take your order?"

Um, what? Didn't really expect that, did I?

Given that this was the drive thru, she obviously didn't see me but my voice sometimes goes into a higher pitch when I'm stressed out. That plus I've been practicing speaking more feminine, just to get rid of the guy charade little by little. I also have this weird habit of channeling other people's voices in my head and imitating them, without effort and sometimes without even thinking. I have to wonder who or what I was thinking of. Often people would be talking to me and I'd talk back to them in their voice, or very close to it. It often throws them off guard.

But it was almost like an out of body experience. Hopefully a preview of things to come... I hope.

It sounds like it was a bit surprising but definitely good. I'm sure there will be many more of these experiences to come

Feels good huh?  I don't pay too much attention to pronouns or how I am addressed, but when they get it right my little heart pops off into the dimension of validation.  "I enjoy being a girl"
