I'm going with Dr. Z for this partly because he has a lot of experience with implants. And I really like the button chin he likes to use. I was just wondering if anyone here has had one and how they feel about results? (Or if someone you know has)

I've seen before and after pictures but pictures only capture one angle, and not how the person feels. Like I know I don't want to come out like Farrah Abraham from Teen Mom. The implant he showed me in person seemed cute and most importantly feminine. Surgeons always say these come out perfect, but I just need to know how patients feel about turnout.

Lauren, I personally don't like Dr Speigel's work, he offered me a chin implant as well, I personally think you would look great with just contouring to give your more of a V shaped chin.. You have a very short chin, so I myself would not make any longer. Excessive cheek or chin augmentation can make a lot of transwomen look a lot more trans, I've heard some stories as well of some woman being clocked more often after visiting Dr. S, he's done some good work though.

Alessandra, your post actually struck a chord. Because the more Ive thought about it the more an implant worrries me. Because my fear is that it will make my face longer. Same with a rhinoplasty, shorter nose = longer face.

I'm just so lost. Any time you find before and afters its just a few serious expression standard angles.

Hey Lauren, if done correctly chin contouring and rhinoplasty will look great on you, you don't need that much. I don't know if you've sen or heard of GiGi Gorgeous, but she's had FFS with dr S, and to be honest with you she does not look that different. I know she had some chin work done, there are so many resources and infromation about the feminization of the chin and nose that it's not even funny. My advice to you is research a lot of doctors. You look pretty already, some FFS will just put you over the edge

I apologize Lauren, but to be honest, I am not a fan of either surgeons work, it's just my own person opinion. I have been sooo distracted lately it's not even funny, I am trying to get FFS myself, I totally fell in love with Dr. Bart's results myself.

She explained in one of her videos that she opted for a slight change and that she didn't want it to be too much

Two girls in my real life support group are post with Dr. Z. One is 6 weeks and the other 3 1/2. They look wonderful and have nothing but good to say about him and the overall experience. I am so envious of how much it changed them for the better.  :)

Thanks everyone for the responses and input. I'm actually scheduled with Dr. Z later this year. Super excited, just starting to freak out about if I come out looking worse or with less confidence about my face. I'm going to him because in our consult and my interaction with the staff I feel like I can trust them, but entrusting my face is just a really big thing... and I just want to feel more confident about what the world sees.

Pg 16 has the dimensions if anyone is curious.

I just can't really find feedback from people with regards to chin implants. I will probably keep digging through RealSelf but no one ever really specifies their implant type.

That's really good, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I am very happy for your friends in the third person
Thankfully I started hormones at a relatively young age, but not young enoug to not screw up my jaw and forehead..I cannot wait for FFS, I really need it after I graduate nursing school

Can I ask you which results you didn't like?

Hey Lauren, on some of Dr. Z's patients, there foreheads were left too high, and on some of his patients it looked as though the changes were minimal. I know he's not a magician, but some of his patients don't look that good afterward. His results strike me as a little plastic. Dr. Speigel has done some great work, but it is really inconsistent. Just go onto youtube and look at GiGi/ Gregory gorgeous, her results were not that impressive, she just uses make-up to jazz up her face. I would go to Speigel if his work was more consistent, and he did not claim to be a world renowned FFS surgeon, ego is a real turn off regardless of occupation

Are you saying that you think that Dr Z has an ego? ... Just wondering what is your opinion.

I'm thinking of going to Dr. Z just because I live in the Chicago area. I've heard good things about him in the local community. When I ask about him personally (I've never met him) I'm given a non-answer most of the time.

Truth is - all good surgeons have an ego.

The only question is whether it fits through the door...  ;D

At the end, your decision is going to boil down to who you feel is most likely to achieve the result you desire, has a support network convenient for you, and finally rapport and pricing.

Good luck deciding!
