I think you are working the right path in having the ACLU involved.

Let them work out the legal aspect so it allows you to get your education.

Everyone must stick up for there human rights and laws of protection.

I don't think anyone can be sued for being trans. That isn't harassment. That would be the same as saying lesbians are harassment because they are lesbians....

I think there is a misunderstanding here. Not sued for being trans. People who are uncomfortable due to people around them can claim harassment. That would be enough to have the principal enforce using what few gender neutral bathrooms there are. I did not say their claim would be legit or win.

BTW, You CAN sue anyone one for any reason, you just won't necessarily win or even see the inside of a court room because of it. I was told that by a lawyer when someone got angry and wanted to sue me because I wouldn't let them adopt 2 of my kids.

As it stands the laws are cloudy however the ACLU agreed to advocate for me with their social worker and team of lawyers. Ill be contacting them tomorrow then they will contact the school and if they aren't compliant they will be filing a law suit (there are already many filed in NY however the court hasnt ruled on any of them yet) ...so thats how things are going and i'll end up graduating before I can actually use a bathroom that matches my gender it seems :P..
You should have the right to use the restroom of your gender choice.

However, think about it.

(1) What would happen if you used the girl's restroom?

(2) What would happen if you used the boy's restroom?

I feel like the answer to both questions is, "Primarily urination and handwashing."

Skyler, keep us posted on the ACLU stuff :)
