My wife really surprised me tonight, in such a good way, and I'm so proud of her..!
First of all some background, my wife is a very conservative Christian, and even though I'm also Christian, we don't talk much about it, since we used to argue a lot about theology, and nothing good comes from arguing with your wife, you WILL loose..! I always thought from a few insensitive and uneducated remarks she's made about various Gay and Trans issues in years past she was against it all, but tonight I was so surprised with some comments she made during a TV show, I just gave her a big hug and kiss, and a big I love you..!
So, we were watching one of the first episodes of "Crossing Jordan", where a depressed Transgender woman who hadn't had SRS yet, wanted the coroner to promise he would do a reassignment surgery if she died, so she could spend eternity in peace as her true self.. So she did die soon after, but the coroner wouldn't do the surgery because of legal issues... Well my wife went off, and got all mad that he wouldn't do the surgery..! I didn't know she felt that way..?? So in the end the coroner did give the trans woman the surgery, and my wife voiced her approval and said some very complimentary things about trans people...
I know it might seem silly to most, but to finally find out that my wife feels the same as me in my passion and support for trans people, it just made me feel like a million bucks..!
It made me a little teary, and I hugged her really long and told her how much I loved her..!! <3
It was such a nice night...
