Laser Hair Removal

Ok so I am getting ready for facial hair removal but I am concerned about redness and shaving afterward. Is it noticeable, a lot of redness? How long does it last.........This is my deal and I just don't want a lot of questions and such, what do I need to be prepared for?

I haven't had my face done yet, but I have had my chest, stomach, and arms done.

Basically, it is different from person to person, depending on many factors such as skin type, hair colour, skin sensitivity, pain threshold, nervousness and ability to relax (trust me, this is important), the capabilities and experience of the technician performing it, and the quality of the machine being used.

I was fortunate that I had the right skin type and hair colour, a high tolerance to pain, and experienced staff doing it. With the exception of a couple of minor blotchy patches on my chest/stomach, and a little bit of an itch, I didn't really suffer anything bad, and the blotchiness disappeared after a couple of days.

I did my face as that is the most important place there were a few spots that were more sensitive such as the jawline but other than that it was a breeze first visit took 45 minutes next one took 20 to 30 minutes technician was very friendly laughing joking the whole time

I just had my 4th laser on my face and your face does get red and puffy for about a day. I get mine in the evening after work and by morning no one can really tell. also after laser you are more prone to getting zits but they go away after a few days. I also wouldn't recommend shaving for the first few days after laser as your skin is still healing and you'll end up with razor burn and you cant even get a close shave. Also the hair tends to fall out pretty evenly for the most part but areas that have more hair like the chin and upper lip will last the longest and is noticeable, but no one has said anything to me about my facial hair. I would say after you start laser just keep shaving most days and no one should noticed your hair diminishing.

Personally, I'm doing full-body including beard and I'm two sessions in, with the third due in a couple of weeks.  I don't really notice any problems on my face afterwards and I'm able to shave the next day.  I do need to shower afterwards to get the marker lines off my body, but that's not a facial issue.  My hair is dark brown and my skin is extremely light so I'm approaching the ideal candidate, and as always YMMV.  It's not necessarily pleasant, but the pain level on the face is hardly the stuff of legend.

I had redness and puffiness after a face laser session that was really noticeable for about an hour, then faded to a "light sunburn" look for another couple hours. I'd usually be fine by about six hours later.

Make you have some aloe vera or a lotion that doesn't contain alcohol so you can keep your face moisturized. If you're like me with sensitive skin then you're gonna want to grab a small towel rinsed in cold water and gently pat your face to ease the burning sensation. If you have a really heavy beard shadow, time your shave session as close as you can to your appointment time else it's gonna be painful. Very lightly exfoliate after your session, it helps to get rid of the singed hairs that are left behind.

Within about 36~ hours, the puffy red skin will be gone, but in its place will be hair follicles that are shedding. It'll look thicker and darker than normal, and this can take a week or more to go away.

Your face will be very sensitive and it's critical you follow all instructions provided to you.
