...I have a similar story that might make you feel better that isn't related to an actual name change. Rather it's about someone in high school I talked to who's getting used to referring to a particular teacher as "Madame" whom she was used to calling "SeƱora" (and still does at other times). Said student goes to a small school with a fairly limited choice of electives, but luckily the foreign language teacher knows both Spanish and French and teaches both - and the student, after being in Spanish, decided to fill one of the other elective periods by starting French. From what she said that has made it a bit awkward with getting used to referring to the teacher with a different title, and she worries that at some point she may end up saying "franol" (or whatever you'd call a hybrid of the two languages) in class by accident. (I've talked to others who've studied two foreign languages at once but not with the same instructor before.)
