Hello ladies,
after going back and forth for quite a while on whether or not I was a trans. I have bought and purged quite a lot of feminine items. After a lot of therapy I've come to terms with the fact that I'm transsexual and am starting my transition. I've had my legs waxed my nails done that's all been great! I'm currently looking into cosmetic products. But my excitement for today is that I purchased my first dress since deciding to transition. It is a beautiful A-line soft pink dress that comes just above my knees. So my next purchase will be a parachutist to go with the dress I'm thinking about a 3 to 4 inch heel to go along with the dress. So far so good having a great time. I would love to hear about other people's experience buying their first dress and what kind it was.
Hugs,
Melissa Ann

I have never bought a dress in during my 26 year long life. And I am almost 2.5 year into my transition.

Though I had experience with makeup, like since I was 15.

Congrats girlfriend, and isn't it amazing how Transition can just creep up on us.

But seriously, my first dress, Eeek! It was a very sexy, yet very slutty, short black dress, aka, the little black dress. It was quite amusing when I finally decided to transition, and not simply just cross dress, I look at the clothesl a previously purchased and lets just say, umm, I don't think I can wear them. I'll get picked up and offered $50 for a good time lol.

I'm a respectable girl now  :icon_lips:

Oh so true! Going FT and realising that the two inch mini and six inch heels ain't going to work in the office!
Seriously though, when buying clothes, buy ones that fit in with what other women your age and life style wear. That is when you pass.

Hmm..
Dress how old you look not how old you are. Jennifer Lopez can get away with it.~

Still haven't bought a dress yet. I feel overwhelmed when i think about getting one.  Especially since I wear an 18-20 on top and 12 bottoms.... its not easy to find something I feel looks okay (not even going for great, just okay).  I think I'll have to go with one of my cis girlfriends to get my first dress.

Congrats on the dress, its a great moment getting your first dress

I was 19 when I bought my first dress, it was a navy blue long sleeve dress, with a low neck line, it came to just above my knee.

My first and only dress was given to me by my grandma.  It looks weird on me, but I hold it close to my heart because she was so sweet to think about me in getting it.

I thought I'd never been able to wear a dress in my life. I was always trying colorful dresses and they never looked right on me.
Then it happened, I became a bit more important where I work and had to wear a dress when going to conventions and others kind of job related events.
I nearly struggled (OMG I can't wear a dress! I look so dumb in it!). Well I had to try harder and managed to find what I needed :

Black and white dress! Well I all about color for the rest of my clothes so black and white was not even in my plan at start :)

I bought a few dresses. Actually they are quite nice. I don't spend a lot of money. I look in the clearance racks.

My favorite is a black fit and flare sleeveless, like this, except not petite:

My wife likes it and is pretty jealous of it... it won't fit her though (I'm size 10, she's size 12).
