Last May i decided to start seeing a gender therapist and started living full time as a woman. Just last month I was able to see a doctor who prescribed spiro and today I finally was able to start with estradiol. Im a very happy girl and can't wait for the changes to start.

So Jessica, are you baking the cookies or am I?

It's an "E" ticket ride.  ;D  That's for sure.

And hey, you don't just want to be a girl- you ARE a girl.

We can both do it. It will be very good for the "girls" getting bigger don't you think?  ;D

I hear it's a roller coaster ride. I wonder how many loops there are. I was supposed to have started friday last week but one of the assistants messed up and called me to say i will start after my second appointment which would be December. Another girl from the doctors office called me this morning and left a voicemail saying my doctor approved of the script which was sent friday last week. I was hoping to start e on my 45th birthday which was last saturday. Popped the first tablet orally but will go sublingual tomorrow. Does this make a difference?

The levels are supposed to be higher if you take it sublingually and as Kat said it would be easier on your liver. From what I was told a lot of the E is metabolized on the 1st pass through the liver if you just swallow it.

Some people swear that sublingual delivers more estrogen into your system. Some say it doesn't matter in the long run. Either way, it's less strain on your liver and with the amount of pills we have to take, the less strain the better.

Anyway, good luck on your journey. I just started this week as well. ^^

I noticed since i started on spiro that i no longer have to use a deodorant since on day 3 i have not applied one and dont have any under arm odors. Is this normal?

Ms Grace

Your body odour will change. A lot of the pong is related to bacteria feasting on the sweat trapped on the hair under your arms (charming, I know!) so if you have shaved your armpits that is likely to be a more significant contributor to lack of BO.

I have been shaving under my arms for way too long to remember,  the body odour does get reduced quite a bit, but was still bothering me...
After starting HRT, one of the first things I noticed is the lack of BO. I do not "need" to wear deodorant anymore.
Summer is approaching where I stay, and am curious how it will be in the heat. (More/less sweating & BO)

Ive been shaving my underarms for many years. I noticed if i don't apply deodorant  it starts to smell after 2 to 3 days. Now im approaching 1 month not applying deo and still no smell. Truly a good thing.

Testosterone laden sweat is definitely going to pong more for some ungodly reason.
