Hello, my name is Emma.

It still sounds a little odd when others say it but to me it sounds right! I'm in the early stages of transition and I've seen a gender therapist. However whilst approved for hormones I'm not on them yet. I've been having electrolysis for about 8 months and it's definitely making a difference but more to do. I've also been having a lot of fun with the clothes and makeup but more importantly going out as me and meeting some new people which has been incredibly fulfilling. Where I've come a bit unstuck is coming out to people who know me. I'm seeing a counsellor about this and I want to get over this and feel comfortable telling people I'm a woman! I've been reading this forum for a while and it has been an inspiration to me. I hope by joining and posting I can make some great new friends too.
