From Sustanon to Reandron and an unfortunate 'side effect'

Hi all,

I've been on testosterone since December 2013, and when I started, I was on fortnightly IM Sustanon injections. Things were going really well. Then I got an offer to come on exchange to Korea for 6 months, and it was too good a chance to refuse, especially since I was passing fine. My doctor and I discussed my medication options, and he suggested (three weeks before my departure) that maybe I should try going on 3 monthly Reandron, thinking that this would be the simpler, easier option. I agreed, because I don't particularly enjoy injections, and I'd much rather have someone else inject me every 3 months than have to inject myself in a share-house once a fortnight.

However, I couldn't afford to keep seeing that GP, and I changed. I met with him for an initial appointment, and we discussed the same issues, and he supported the change. So I had my first shot of Reandron: it was perfect timing, I thought, since I was due for my next dose of Sustanon that day anyway.

Then, a week later, I had some minor bleeding. It was a bit of a shock because all that nastiness had slowly stopped when I was on Sustanon. I was stressed, and took myself back to me new GP, who said it was nothing to worry about; just my old hormones kicking in because I'd been due for a shot. That was a week before I left Australia. Now I'm living in Korea, but every month I seem to be having what I can only describe as 'diminished' menstruation, and it is annoying as f***. I am due for my next shot of Reandron in mid-October, but I don't know if that's going to stop it.

Has anyone else had any similar experiences? Any and all advice and thoughts would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Reandron is the same as nebido is it not?

If it's exactly the same I believe you should of had a loading phase to keep your levels at the right level. It's probably not having that which has thrown it out if whack a bit and causing the bleeding.

Ahhh. Thanks for the reply, lxndr; you've helped me kill the panic response. I expect you're right. My new doctor is a men's sexual health specialist, but I'm his first early stages ftm client, and I guess things like this are one of the downsides to that. Hopefully, the next dose will help things stabilise a bit.

Edit: They are exactly the same.

Not all doctors in the UK know about it, and Nebido has been used a lot longer here than Reandron has.

The loading phase here tends to be something like:

0 weeks - shot.  Some people also recommend getting a sustanon shot here as well.
6 weeks from first - shot
12 weeks from first - shot
every 12 weeks from then on - shot

Obviously I'm not a doctor, just going by what I've heard lots of guys say here.  The only thing you can really do now is just sit it out and wait for your levels to sort themselves out on their own.  It's all to do with it being slow release.  It will stop in time though, just the same as it did with Sustanon.

Ah well...the experiences of others are just as helpful as doctor's advice for me right now.

I guess patience is a virtue. Never been so keen for an injection before in my life.
