Excited but blown away at the same time

So yesterday I set up my first appointment to see a cosmetologist about my makeup. I really have no idea what I'm doing with makeup. I have done some experimenting, but need to be taught how to apply my makeup correctly so I came out to the woman on the other end of the phone and she asked me what my name is I responded_______ at which point she inquired on what I'd like to be called. I told her Melissa!! To which she responded what a beautiful name. Some I was not expecting yet is among the beginning roads of my transition haven't even started. HRT, yet. I have my first appointment with my endocrinologist next week, so things are moving along.

If you don't mind some Make up advice from a cis SO here...
The biggest thing is..Practice, practice, practice.
Even if I don't do my normal cat eyeliner for a few days, I seem to forget how to do it the next time.
Pinterest has lots of good links to tips and tricks that I love to check out all the time.

And mascara is your best friend.... Well at least for me it is and I'm a snob to my fav one.

And Melissa is a great name! We are still working on the name for my partner, but i think we have a winner!

Well I just finished with my makeup consultation it was so exciting to learn how to use  makeup the cosmetologist. They came over to help me was fantastic and the best part was that she came to my house to show me how to use this and I didn't have to sit in a department store or salon while practicing. They felt so much more, while doing it this way, due to the fact that I am just starting on this journey and in no way can pass yet. The night started out great. When I open the door she greets me with hi Melissa, how are you tonight that put a big smile on my face that hasn't left yet. IMHO, everybody should try this at least once. OMG was this fun just two girls sitting around playing with different colors and shades of makeup!!

Now that I have all my makeup. It's time to practice practice practice practice and of course more practice and I have scheduled her to come back in the middle of next month to show me more tips and tricks. It really is amazing what makeup can do for you. Being that I'm a larger woman, my eyelids sag a little bit of boy with the makeup in the right place. It really opened up my eyes.
