I just saw a link in the news section of the forums that linked autism with low estrogen and being transgender , especially FTM.  I have aspergers , am DFAB and currently feel about 75% male 25% female. Just wondering if there were other people on the autism spectrum who are any kind of trans.

I am autistic and I am transgender. Maybe the link between low estrogen and autism could be true because boys are more severely affected. I don't even feel like a girl at all. I get mad when someone says ma'am, she, her about me or calls me a girl.

I am neuroatypical and possibly on the autism spectrum (to hopefully be evaluated in the future). There is a correlation with high prenatal testosterone levels (in AFABs) and ->-bleeped-<-, and also a correlation with high prenatal testosterone levels and autism spectrum disorders. So I can see where this link may be.
alexander. gender non conformist. queer. trans masculine. neuroatypical.

i don't think i'd qualify for the autism spectrum, but i am a nerd level above even math nerds, and have troubles with social interactions which are just about bad enough that my mom never managed to connect with me. i'm not sure she tried hard enough though.
i'm also not completely ftm, and insist on staying in the unicorn forest.

if my fingers are right, i could have been exposed to above average prenatal testosterone levels.
always thought my hands looked too manly, if only i'd known it was because of the long ring fingers...

I think if they were tested EVERYONE would register on the autism scale somewhere, even if only a little.

of course everyone would be there, but there are average values, considered "normal", and way above the average, which is considered the autism spectrum. it's the same line, just different parts of it. i think it's diagnose only when it causes problems in everyday life, many have a whole lot of the same traits, but can still function kind of normally in society. well, what society thinks is normal at least, i'm not too sure society is right about this though.

I'm on the autism spectrum. I have met more FTMs than maybe in any other population. I have met a MTF or two as well (though not as many). It's fairly interesting. There have been articles about it. Not sure if I think this is the real reason or if it's actually low estrogen.

I don't agree that *everyone* would test on the spectrum. In fact there are kind of little tests online, and most people don't test on it. Might have been a facetious comment.

im tecinally dignosed unspecific asberger, but I dont identify with the dignose and think its wrong. -_-
to me autism is is abit like ADHD and bipolar which many people get when they act abit diffrent than intented, not really questionate why they do so, many like me also get them when we are kids and cant remember how or why.
If you read typical magazines and so to parrent with autistic kids, specially girls you can try exchange it with a person being trans or other thing and see how much actually could fit both decribtions. I clearly think many of the things people have consider autistic for me is just because I am queer, trans and in general never wanted to fit and do something just because others did so. its not a positive thing to be diffrent in our current sociaty.

I wish it was so, but many are dignosed with things they dont find to be a struggle. and even if you can functional normal in sociaty with the dignose you still got the dignose and its difficult to get rid off when you got it. =/ even I which are consider "to normal" for the autistic comunity cant simple just get rid of the label, even when I cant get any suport from it anymore (which is why you get dignose in the first place so you can get these type of suport)
I wish dignose would only be for those who felt this was a struggle for them. I cant use my dignose at all so theres no reason to keep it, but dignoses I actually do want to have (like dyscalculia) is pretty difficult to get =/.

well, maybe that's because it's society that defines "normal".
i don't think asperger is a bad diagnose at all. nerdier than average, little or no interest in social chitchat, and occasionally one-track minded, is mostly what it tells me. i personally prefer those types of people.

i recently told my brother he should ask his shrink to get tested for it. he has some really interesting quirks which make more trouble for him than what he realizes himself. it isn't because i absolutely want him to get even more diagnoses, but it might be relevant for therapy. knowing that someone's mind doesn't work the "normal" way.

I dont think its bad many asbergers are really interesting and friendly, I just dont feel this is the label which decribes me, and I also feel the way sociaty deal with it are wrong.

Growing up half and half autistic and non-autistic comunities, I feel its ridiculous how sociaty threats it as 2 seperated worlds insteed of just people in 1 world. Either you are in the  "normal box" where you dont need any help and can do everything, or you are "the outcast" which can get special help for alot of things but not expected to be able to succed in the same way. in reality many non dignosed people could actually benefit from extra help simple because there humans, and on the other way around alot of autism people are being limited in there options on what they actual can do because they are expected to be "less" and also have to be if they want to keep fitting withing the comunity. If you fall between the two boxes of dignose yet "too normal" or undignoset yet being clearly diffrent, then theres no help at all, and you just dont belong anywhere, sure people do experimenting because a goal is always for an autism to be "normalized" to fit sociaty so there are many people like me who grown up in this enviroment and became what the teacher will call "normal enough" but there tecnially still in a grayzone area as long as there dignosed or as long as someone undignosed got very clear autistic signs.

I think your brother must decide for himself if he want a dignose, because when you get an dignose it very difficult to get rid of it again, So you must be sure this is something you actually want.
Some people find blessings and confort in dignose cause they offer you help and certain options, and maybe a comunity, but if you get a dignose and you dont feel it decribes or will help you then it can be a curse more than a blessing.
