Hey I'm Alex(ander) I'm a  trans guy from Sydney.  Right now I'm stuck finishing the last month of in my lovely modern orthodox Jewish school (who really didn't appreciate me coming out 6mo ago) and hopefully I'll start my medical transition. I'm currently seeing a psychologist twice a week but she's not a gender therapist and has apparently "not decided" whether I'm trans or it's something else.  Probably my parents' fault, they are not supportive they think it's a phase (even though I came out to them over 3.5 years ago). I have socially transitioned as much as possible at school but not at home.  I'll probs have to pay for everything myself starting next year (which I'm pissed about) and I'm thinking about moving out of home because of their nonacceptance. I've been offered to do a story about being trans on the show "A Current Affair" and will hopefully take that up.
Yeah.  I'm also neuroatypical btw and I tend to be very impulsive and say things without thinking them through which has gotten me in trouble in the trans community more than once before so I apologise in advance if I say something stupid.

So glad you have found this place, it is home to a lot of us.

It sounds like your condition causes you some frustration but most of us are pretty thick skinned around here! I am lucky, my parents had already worked it out, my mum is totally supportive my dad just wants to pretend everything is the same.

Good luck with everything!

I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time." Jack London

Hey Alex, welcome to Susan's! Quite a few Sydney people here (me included), although most of those I'm aware of are trans women's here are still plenty of trans guys on the forum.

Have you heard of the Gender Center in Petersham? They have counsellors and resources, etc for younger trans people.
