if someone doesn't respect your gender identity even after you tell them you are male, they are the problem, not you. you will always be faced with ignorant and bigoted people, whether you pass or not. i think we all can relate to how frustrating it is but honestly don't limit your work within the transgender community because even that community isn't as accepting as we wish they were. as for girls, i have only dated straight women who completely see me as male (before T, too) so whether you date straight, bisexual, w/e, there will be women who see you as a man. you just need to give it time because not everyone will be a bad experience and i'm sure a lot of others can back me up with that.
by the way, there is tons of transgender people in the spotlight so definitely don't let being transgender hold you back from showing people your art. we might be a minority but we aren't invisible and shouldn't shy away or w/e because some idiots can't be respectful or are bigots, etc.
