Growing up my mother wore (and she still does) very heavy makeup. Even if she stays home during the day she is wearing it and never takes it off. She would sleep in it. When she woke up, she would wash off the old and apply new makeup. It was so heavy and it had an odor that was overwhelmingly strong. Only twice (when she was in the hospital) have I ever seen her without it and she really didn't need it. (Now may be a different story with age.) Anyway, I allays like a little bit of makeup to where is look natural and light. When I came out to my mother that I was transgender, she was very accepting, but asked, "I thought you didn't like make up! and your wife doesn't wear make up." Once I explained what I liked, she understood better.
I love the fact that I easily pass without makeup, so I don't have to wear it every day. However, I do enjoy wearing some light foundation and a little natural looking color. Also the days after electrolysis, makeup certainly helps with confidence even though I pass the day of electrolysis (before and after.) I like bareescentuals due to it's natural look and it feels natural to wear to me.
