Hi! So I posted a topic here about obtaining a letter for HRT, and I've heard a lot of girls saying that I shouldn't even need a letter or go through therapy. Is that true? I want this process to be hurried so I can finally move along with life  :-\ I've always heard you had to have a letter.

There are places that do "informed consent", but therapy is a good foundation for transition.

Saw my therapist for the first time today. She said we're going to do the standard three meetings and she'll get me the letter of consent and set me up with the doctor. She said she'll also be able to help me with other things (like FFS and SRS). Even if I wasn't looking for letters, she was truly amazing and wants to help me get on the journey asap. Not every doctor will need a consent letter, but it's better safe than sorry. At the very least I suggest you give therapy a shot once. You will probably need someone to talk to once your journey begins.
