It's so odd but makes sense also. I started back up drinking soy milk today. I drink atleast 1 whole cup of it. I used it like 6 months ago and if I drink 1 glass of it, I can notice the effects in say 6 hours. It basically can lower the sex drive to not much to nothing. It has the same effect as a tetanus shot for me. Only difference is that soy milk has dht blocking properties to it unlike a tetanus shot. Dht is what mainly causes hair thinning to balding.

I used it to block dht but it along comes lowering sex drive which helps dht from coming around to when guys have sex or such. Ejaculation is one way of what releases dht out to the hair follicles and start to make the hair thin. Now people would wonder why a lowered sex drive is a good thing still. Well your helping to block dht in 2 ways basically. Now soy milk isnt going to make you grow back hair altogether as you will need other things. Im now on dht blocking shampoo, 8 vitamins with some them being dht blockers and now again soy milk. Ill be on 15 vitamins soon with many of them having dht and hair growth properties.

I have heard soy milk in 1 glass does nothing at all but for me it does alot. Id be curious what 3 or 4 glasses does. I know alot about hair thinning, dht and being a transgirl, I know how tough hair loss is. I know it can devastating and what I have to say is there is hope. My hair has grown back some and all but it has not been fast enough for me or effective so Ive stepped up my attack on the dht and hair thinning. You do not have to use some medicine like propecia with nasty side effects to block dht. You can do it with no side effects unless the good ones and get your hair coming back.

Id love to help out transgender girls get there hair back completely! :)

I'm not going to say that soy is an entirely neutral input into anyone else's diet, but I've been drinking soymilk for a lot of years and my libido is strong. I've only experienced hair thinning in pregnancy. I've had a bunch of tetanus shots, too, because I can never prove I've already had one when I get bitten or hit with metal, but I've not heard that tetanus shots have effects beyond protection from lockjaw.

I hope everybody gets what they want in the way of hair and sex drive and whatever else, though, however you make it happen.

what works for one person works for one person. it's better to remember that it might not work for everybody though.
trying a fairly natural remedy is often not harmful, so i'm not saying others shouldn't try just to see if it works for them as well.

I'd like to block dht and lower my sex drive too, I could give soy milk a try. :)

I've never had ANY desire to drink soy milk. This thread has gotten me thinking... and looking.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/548349-hair-loss-drinking-soy-milk/  This article mentions the potential for iodine in the milk which can not only counteract the good stuff in soy, but actually cause increased hair loss! Whether it's true or to what extent, I don't know. And certainly as others have said, "results may vary"...

There aRe different types of soya milk - made from soya flour, soya beans or soya protein. Those derived from beans are a trigger for people susceptible to irritable bowel (go me!). So it pays to look very closely at labels!

My MtF hormones have triggered hair regrowth thank goodness!

Do you have any links to studies or articles backing up these claims?

I'm not on HRT, am in my late 30's and still have a full head of hair, and have had lots and lots of ejaculations. I occasionally drink soy milk, but only recently, and only because it's cheaper than real milk and lasts longer. By drink, I mean use in coffee or in recipes that call for milk, I don't think I could actually drink a glass of it by itself, maybe if I had several 3 or 4 cups of coffee with a lot of soy milk I could have the same effect, but then I'd also have effect of 3 or 4 cups of coffee...

Honestly no I have no links or articles as I never kept most of those links. I just know it works on me and remembered the info and all. I did write a bunch of info, vitamins and other products and such down so Id know what It all was named.

You just dont have the genes for hair thinning but I do but blocking the dht has done a ton for me to help in getting my hair back. It's not all back and I may need a small transplant sometime but it is working. Ive seen hair's show up where was originally gone completely. I had a patch near my forehead which got bad so I did this and Ive seen tons of improvement in that area for example. I doubted some of this info and when my doc told me I couldnt really do anything, I decided to try and even though fixing it is FAR from done, it's working. Why else would I have bought a bunch more vitamins recently to get bigger results? Because I know this is working.
