I find shopping for new clothes to be such an adventure,  looking at the colors and styles trying to pick something that looks nice.  I have been crossdressing alot in the last 3 years. i don't really put much thought into the mens clothes i buy like i do my womans clothes, but it really excited me to realize that i actually wore out my bra's and need to buy new ones, I don't know which excited me more buying new bra's or the fact that i got to wear them often enough to wear them out

The men's side of the store is always so drab and boring isn't it?  No wonder most of them frown much of the time.   

Shopping IS fun!  This past year I have been restocking my wardrobe and accessories and it has been a real hoot.  I do 80% of my shopping online.  Have you ever shopped at HerRoom.com?  Of all the websites I have made purchases from, their sizing has been the most accurate and they have very easy to use and understand sizing charts.

I've tried Wal-Mart a couple times because they are relatively inexpensive but the sizing and quality suffer.  And Kohl's has some great bargains too but their web site is very confusing.  At least with the browser I'm using. 

Shop on!  And post a pic or two of your new purchases!

Dani and Darlene, my sentiments exactly.  I just made a new post and it should have been here. 

Until yesterday I hadn't bought men's clothes in 2 years and then just a couple pair of jeans and T-shirts.  All my boy clothes are worn out but I didn't care. 

On the other hand, I live in a rural area and drive to Walmart for food.  Although their quality isn't good, they sometimes get in cute stuff.  Unfortunately by the time I see them, what remains is usually too big for me (I'm size 14-16).  I do like their cheap jewelry and beauty products.

I've never gone there dressed, but a fear of mine is to show up in an internet "Wal-martians"" email.

Most clothes I like to look at, feel the material, and see how they look up close.  You can't do that online.  Shopping for bras in guy mode is embarrassing at first, but they are cheaper at stores with no shipping/handling, and no wait.

But the only way I can buy shoes is online.  payless.com stocks size 13wide whereas the stores only go to 11 womens (like a men's 10).  I've ordered from them a couple times and it's a good value. In fact I need to order from them soon.  I need to get something for every-day/all-day use.

Payless shoes is awesome for larger sizes!  I wear a 10-1/2 mens which is about a 12W and I found a few pairs locally there in years past that were fashionable, inexpensive and fun.

I have bought some fem things locally but I still get so embarrassed that my shopping is very limited.  Kudos to you for making it happen!

Shopping makes me very joyful.. the colours, the combinations, and the feeling it gives me!

I'm not openly dressing in female clothes but I'm currently looking for female sweaters and shirts, and to be fair it shouldn't really be noticeable as a male. Just the idea of wearing female clothes and accessories is therapeutic for me, it doesn't even have to look very feminine. As long as I know it's designed for the female market then I'm happy. I think if I do transition I'll be very mixed when it comes to clothing.

I love female clothing shopping so much. I went today and bought a bunch of feminine clothes to wear at home and I had a blast and it took me so much longer than when I dress for my boring ass male clothes. I went to the panties and they have such a variety, so much more than plain old mens underwear and I must have spent like twenty minutes looking around for my size until I found some boy short panties that looked amazing and yes they feel great as well.

I went and looked at the bras because i wanted to pick up my first bra but they didn't have my size, I think I am like a 42D or so and well they didn't have my size so I guess I will have to buy that online as well as save up for a breast form too. I bought a body shaper that looks more like a unitard but it feels so nice. I bought a Catalina swimsuit as well and love wearing that with tights. I shaved my legs last night and now the tights feel so good. I must have spent almost a hundred dollars on my new feminine clothing. You know that you are a true cross dresser when you spent that much in just one sitting on female clothes when you are a guy. I love new stuff and wearing it.

Hi Sandy.  It's so much fun to go into the big stores and look at all the variety of colors, styles and fabrics in the women's department.  And then when you turn around and look into the vast shades of gray and brown of the men's department, it's a wonder more men don't come over to the "light" side.

I went shopping yesterday and bought a dress and a nice skirt and when I first started to purchase womans clothing I was a nervous wreck and was thinking how am I going to purchase these things and how would the cashier react towards me. I am a guy and I am very masculine on the outside and I tend to get worried on how people will perceive me when I do my female clothes shopping at first and I def don't want to get some young guy as the cashier, rather have a woman cashier anyday and I always make sure that I go to the female cashier.

Well lately my confidence is building and I am starting to not have a problem shopping for my female clothes and yesterday the store I went to was ppretty busy and I started in the area where dresses are and there were other women around but I didn't care and it was funny cause I picked up a few dresses and put them up to myself and a lady looked at me and gave me a crazy look, I just smile at her and she looked away. I feel like my confidence is building every single time because I am learning about female clothes more and what I want and looking for and before I just looked confused and lost.

I went through the skirts and dresses and found exactly what I wanted, I also had to go to the undergarments of course cause I am always on the lookout for a new pair of panties, love the underwear section.

Shopping for clothes always give me a thrill, but it's a bit scary at the same time (which I kinda like )...
I don't have the courage to go out dressed, so I always have to buy stuff in boy mode.
It gets easier over time

I just get a thrill out of shopping for womans clothes, I mean the first couple times I was so nervous just for the fact that I would have to go to the checkout and pay for the clothes and being looked at like I am strange but then started to realize that I don't know the people that are cashing me out and that I shouldn't have to explain or feel weird about it. I mean most of the times all the sizes are the same so its not like they are up and down. I love buying lingerie, that is my favorite, I love the colors and the fabrics are so awesome. Even better when I am wearing them on my body though. I can't wait to purchase my breastforms and put them in my bras that I just recently bought.

I agree. The thing is knowing we shouldn't be nervous about buying stuff and actually not getting nervous are two different things...
For me a big part of the tension is the risk of meeting someone I know, even if I'm far from where I live and that risk is low.
When I started buying in physical stores I was quite scared about what the sales people and cashiers would think, but now not so much.
I find it interesting that despite we expecting them to judge us most of them don't. I can only remember one cashier that was not that nice and another time when a security person was clearly following me (both in department stores) ¬¬
