HOLY CRAP the top of the lip, right under the nostril, hurts like a mother^@$@&^$@&^#$#&^!! I was in tears when the session was over. :(

Aaah, yes, that is the spot that causes my eyes to water too.  I have cried buckets over the past almost 3 years.

I am just back from session maybe 95 (with 2 techs working me over) and they only found one hair under my nose.  I am now at the stage where there is a celebration if a normal mature hair is found!!  At last, after all this time, it seems I am looking at a maintenance schedule only.  There actually is light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes, it's quite the most joyous few hours of my week; I burst into tears after the last session, which was all around my lips.

But we persevere.... we are driven....

I know the feeling. Some people get a dental block shot or shots to deaded that entire area. Maybe just ask your dentist to give you some shots then off to the electro lady while you feel nothing. That is what I do & my plan for that area. Emal cream did nothing for me at all, waste of $. My lady uses something else, I'm not sure. Nothing really works very well for me.

Love my nails & classic Revlon Red. Moving back to Florida, so excited but so much work moving

Sometimes I have to get my electrologist to pinch the tip of my nose to stop me from sneezing!!

Did you apply Emla numbing cream about an hour before? It does help a little bit, but that area just under the nostril is still a killer.

I use Alocane but that's pretty worthless so far. I haven't used Emla because I leave work and go straight to electro and can't walk around with saran wrap on my face. :(

The closer to the nose ... the higher the pain I've found!

Fortunately getting to the point where I only need a two week tidy up (After 9 laser sessions and about 50 hours of electro) , but it still hurts like CENSORED!

I have found that taking some ibuprofen and paracetemol about 30 minutes beforehand helps ... a little.
I have also found that EMLA applied an hour beforehand helps ... a little.  I don't bother with saran wrap, just keep applying it to the "moustache" area every 20 minutes or so when it has dried.

Every little bit helps, but I still get tears when she zaps that area.

I do. 45 minute sessions once a week.

Lidocaine at 5% bought over the counter at freds, slather it on 20 min before appt and keep it on. Tylenol 15 min before and over the counter allergy pills. I sleep through it, mostly. Ive not been down for eight weeks non on lip still, yay. Real pain is feeling hair on yr face.

Would whiskey help?   ???

I have tried everything emla, ligocaine, meditation, ear phones, strong oral pain medication and a few glasses of wine.  The good thing is that the wine and heavy medication helps you sleep (at least until they get to the upper lip), the negatives are that it may make it illegal to drive a car after the appointment, I find that a bathroom break during a 3 or 4 hour session is disruptive (losing valuable electro time) and I suspect my face is more swollen then when I avoid alcohol.  Also probably not a good idea to stress the liver with alcohol when on hrt.

I usually can't help but have a loo break - the Spiro really gets my bladder working, especially in the morning. Even though it means a loss of five or so minutes I'm quite happy for the respite. It's weird, yes I find the pain is sometimes excruciating, but I haven't shed a tear yet. Maybe I've built up a tolerance for the pain or something.

I barely last 3 hours, lord knows how anyone could survive one of your legendary 6 hours sessions without a loo break. :)

Safe travels

Ha! Well it was 2 three hour sessions with a one hour lunch break in between, thank god!!

(I'm not doing those anymore, there's not enough beard left to justify six hours in one day, yay!!)

I'm going to go to Fred's tomorrow and see if I can get the 5% cream for my session this week which will be lower jaw and neck. I take two Aleve about 20-30 minutes before each session.

I finished a nice session yesterday. It still hurts no doubt, but I did not cry. However my face looks & feels great today so it was well worth the pain. Oh my lady uses lidocaine, massages it into the pores, then we wait for 15-20 minutes before starting any procedure. She is a pro at hair removal, 15-20 years of experience. Good luck to all GF's.

No coffee either b4 appt. The key is put it on often and let the lidocaine soak into the skin layers. It gets better all the time as less hair density. Neck is easy..temples cheek bones and lip...ouch. neck has more tendency for ingrown so exfoliate.

I don't think I can grow out hair and go out in public why I'm waiting for the snow so I can have a excuse to wear scarves around my face lol.
