Hey can anyone help me with paying for transitioning stuff? Not exactly send me money help, though I'd love that lol, but help on how to pay. I come from a family where money isn't always available and basically we're broke. We're fighting to pay for my permit and drivers ed right now as an example. We don't have much and the only one with a job, or actually able to have one atm, is me. I'm the only one in the house who can legally work something. So I'm won't have much being I can only work part-time. I won't have much of an income at all when I move out too.
With that being said, how can I expect to pay for hormones or surgery? My granma, mom, dad, and most of my family already informed me that they aren't helping me "degrade my body". Probably wasn't smart for me to talk back, tryna be a smart-a, and say "Yet you all have tattoos, some with guns and gang bs, and call that okay and not degrading? *chuckle* Hypocrites." So I guess I screwed myself over even worse. But still I'm on my own and soon to move out of my home so I'm confused.
I live in Minnesota and the state insurance doesn't cover anything related to GRS, including hormones and therapy sessions. I don't even know if I can switch my insurance over to one that helps cover that and if I can, I know how to check if I can pay for things and have made good decisions in the past so I'm confident I could now. I work part-time and have school to worry about. And I'm not getting any help from family so I'm literally on my own. Any help?
