Job references will call me female? (FTM/Not outed to everyone)

Hey, I'm new to this site and I thought it would be cool to join since I'd have other people to talk about transgender issues~

I've been searching for a job lately(not much luck unfortunately), and I'm not completely out as FTM to everyone; It's mostly some people who have known me from high school, and my parents. I'm not out to everyone for personal reasons, but those people who still know me as female are the only people I can use as job references on my applications.
If I happen to get an interview, will my chances of getting a job decrease because these references refer to my employers as me being female, and if I correct my employers by saying I'm male?
I honestly feel like it will confuse my employers and they'll possibly think that I'm not very honest.
I never really thought about telling an employer that I'm FTM; I just wanted to walk in and say something along the lines of "Hey, nice to meet you. My name is xxxx, and I would appreciate it if you would call me by male pronouns since that is what I'm comfortable with".
Would that be alright, or does anyone have a better suggestion?
Has anyone had any similar situations?

I wish I could give you good advice for this but it's tough. I'm dealing with it now too. When I applied for my job I used my legal name because it's what's on my legal stuff and my references know me by it. I didn't want the employer to think I was lieing to them. Anyway I went to the interview dressed like a guy though so they probly just think I'm a really butch lesbian lol they hired me still so least I know they are somewhat lbgt friendly. I would go in dressed like you And use your legal name. Say you prefer this name though and see how it goes from there.

I'm looking for work, too, and dealing with the same things...

Looks like it's just going to be a long slow process of gradually coming into my new name.

I hope you get a fantastic job, very soon!
