Hi all,

So I've got a question for anybody that might know. I'm currently on HRT (9 weeks so far) and doing well. I was recently in to see an ear doctor for some Tinnitus in my right ear which has been there for years. They recommended a Tinnitus Formula supplement by a company called Arches. Reading the label, there are three main components to it. Ginkgo Biloba 240mg, Deordorized Garlic (Bulb) 300mg, and Zinc (as Zinc Picolinate) 15mg. I've read that Zinc can potentially cause interference of HRT and just wanted to see if anybody has any input before I start taking the Tinnitus supplement. Based on the label, it'd be 200% Zinc DV daily. The garlic and ginkgo don't have a percentage. But their mg seem high.

Any help is appreciated.

I do not know about the supplements, but there is a prescription drug called Meclizine that is just for ringing in the ears/dizziness. I would trust it far more with no negative reactions to HRT over supplements. Might ask your doctor about it. The only reason I do not like supplements is they are not regulated by any entity and you never know the quality or effectiveness because of that. Definitely ask your doctor and go with his recommendations. Just make sure he is aware you will be on HRT protocol. Good luck!  :)

That sounded familiar. I actually have some of that for some dizziness I had about 8 months ago that I use rarely. Only when I get dizzy which is quite rare and usually only happens when I have nasal congestion. I didn't know it was for Tinnitus too. I have a followup with my ear doctor next week to go over MRI results. Might hold off till then on taking the supplement so I can talk to them. They recommended it but didn't know I was on HRT.

If anyone has any input, feel free to chime in.

I don't have tinnitus but my ears, especially the left one, will sometimes get clogged right about the same time as my nose starts to get congested a little and I get a runny nose. I get the feeling and I ain't a doctor so just a guess that both can be triggered by stress...progesterone has much improved this situation for me. :) I also noticed dark circles under my eyes which also improved with the addition and increase of progesterone. Might have to do something with poor blood circulation due to tension in the body.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience
